About time some order was shown around.
About time. 😝
I wonder how many have already removed?
Thanks, Nox. Hopefully we won't have troll wars again :)
No more politic nonsense, and above all: no more troll posts by the accounts MedF, ProudM, RagingM, whether or not they are one and the same person. They contribute nothing but hate and foul talk, and a whole lot of unrelated hatred.
im sorry if my link was too sexual .. but was for fun only dont penalization me pls
guest-XZjKHlx1 Nazi - troll ,deleting please !
And out with the AvatarX clones, of which there are already several in existence.
Wow, this just made me realize that there still are some forbidden things that we did not yet see here...
Anyway, as other Councillors said: finally and thanx, hopefully it will make it a better place:)

Gracias! The moderation is very appreciated.
This is good to hear. I know it'll be a lot of extra work for you cats, so thank you. <3
That`s great! The comment section will become a nicer place now!
Yes, it was about time, but I fear a few things... For example, the "gender garbage", as some call it. When men protest because they feel they are suffering sexism, people say they are misogynist. But when a feminazi says aberrations against men, people say that is equality. This happens every day in our society. When people complains about the Justicar, because this creature makes no sense, are you going to hide behind feminism (or other stupidity) and delete those comments? That is what I fear
Thank you Nox.
Tito_Reni Please stop. That "men are oppressed by militant feminists" horse is very dead. Stop beating it.
This was SO the wrong blog entry to say this. Most comments were positive towards the article, now all start war again, and what should be said and not said. Such a mess. And I can only blame you for taking action so late.
Just to clear out possible misunderstanding, when I said YOU I said Ubisoft, for not giving you guys a moderator from the beginning.
@broui Not only that, any "politically correct" bullshit could be used to delete comments, and I don't want that. Maybe is because I'm an anarchist and I don't like control, or maybe is because words can't hurt me (I just ignore the stupid comments or even I find them funny because they are absurd), but I don't see the need for a moderator in the comments. Where I see the need for a moderator is in the multiple accounts thing, but is too late, just see what happens to the sylvan line-up.
@broui And sorry for the delay but, because of some stupid error of this web, I couldn't comment.
Looks like a moderator finally arrived, some comments have disappeared.
It was about time.
Warning - it happened! There is a moderator. О_0
It's an invisible force
Show yourself oh mighty moderator :P
Moderator removed Galaadle picture, and Jeremiah, and Quest №№№№ )
We are not worthy to gaze upon this Power. Its light will only blind us, and we can't see a thing!
Yaay, come sanity!
If 'you know who' finds out his posts have been removed....
He'll do what he always does :D We won't even notice the difference
Now let's hope it becomes more consistent.
I wonder, though...if your posts are removed, do you lose the exp points you gained from them? And the upvotes?
Scrolling down the comments and not seeing a single one of Jemo's trolls feels strange. Like I was in a wrong place :D
Some traces left in Matooob's post from yesterday...but not much.
What a relief!
I can read the comment section without feeling the need to strangle someone! The day the prophecies foretold has finally arrived!
It's the beginning of a new era, until the next eclipse when the demons return :P
I think today we can expect an article introducing us the new (?) moderator and a small lecture of how we should behave.
Well, if they do read these posts once in a while, I would expect them removing some tish tosh as well. I don't think it's too hard for them to do. Hard is enduring all those posts every - god -damn - day.
Wow, this indeed seem to be true :O
What a relief, devs finally started to act instead of empty talk. Now we need an explanation of rules that will be guarded here and possibly a Report button...
I think the rules were already straightforwardly explained in their pep articles, no?
This is good news
For any reasonable person yes, but most of those need no rules at all to behave properly. But all the others need a precise set so they need to know exactly why their posts were removed (or they became banned, if there's such possiblity) in order not to leave room for pointless arguments.
And there is another reason, yet I'm reluctant to talk about it.
Up until this point we had freedom of speech. Total freedom. We all saw were it brought us. No matter how you look at it it's being restricted now - and I wonder how far these restrictions will go, so to avoid any misunderstandings.....
Ofc, I'm probably just paranoid;)
I think personal insults, political debates, race prejudice and too much off topic spamming - as if transforming the blog into a personal diary. That might be the most obvious stuff being cut hither and tither.
Although, going eventually off topic is a bit more because there's nothing more to be commented anywhere, for lack of discuss-able content, so the spamming of off topic stuff is, first of all, a result of devs presented articles. We cannot be judged or simply cut off that way. It only reflects the overall interest.
I hope they will erise and block every comment from LightAvatar and his multy accounts. He is worst spammer of all. No more stupid diary and favorite shows and quizzes about stupid things. Please do it. Thank you.
It does not make any sense to insult one self. I do not trust you on that statement.
💀 We had enough of this Asha cult! We want competent, independent and megalomaniac necromancers! Long live the VOID NECROPOLIS! 💀
... and no more spiders in Necropolis, they are not even undead :)
Exactly! Give back the City of the Dead to the Undead! 😡
The Spider cult it's a curse that's destroying Necropolis.
If only some dev would hear us... (well, maybe they'll hear you in the Paris event =D )
you have 2 choise:
- don't recruit it
- mod it and replace whit other unit
Who's lurking there? The faceless moderators?
@Eltheris: The presence of the spider is just one of the problems of the current Necropolis, the main one is the creative direction that was given to faction with the Spider Cult. This idea of nice guys looking for balance goes against the tradition and legacy of the real Necropolis.
Necropolis should be ruled by people like Sandro.
Then create a mod whit your vision of campain where you take control of Sandro and his void followers.
@Eltheris: Yeah is just that simple lmao
@Eltheris: I guess instead of expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting what I (and a lot of people) think is right, I should spend hours doing what you say and since I'm doing that I should also do decent town screens for every faction, create non recycled units and some new neutral units too, fix game bugs and do the work of the devs.
Yeah that's completely reasonable...
Nah its just like emo and his male druids obsession whit whit some of you guys is whit spider ;).
We simply care about Necropolis and we won't stand idly while one of our favorites factions keeps getting butchered. And unlike jeremiah, our comments and complains about that state of Necropolis are usually the most upvoted, we are not alone in this fight.
If you want to eat and praise everything that Ubisoft gives you, no matter how bad or silly it is, well that's your choice but not everyone is like that.
If there is one thing I may never be able to get is, people who blame people for complaining. If one does not cares about aesthetics and flavor and will be happy whether there is spiders or not, why would he be upset that the ones affected by it being vocal. Is absurd.
And they complain about others complaining about the game. They are even off topic.
The balance-keeping Necromancer faithful to Asha was a cool twist in Dark Messiah. Arantir is the best character in that game, really.
They might overuse the Spider Cult now, but I wouldn't exactly want it to be completely gone. That, even despide the fact that I don't really like the fact that Asha's worship is most apparent in necromancy, which was always supposed to be unholy...
Spidermancy. And my heart is still shaking.
Let's never forget this:
I'd like to send a big shout out to whoever came up with the Moderator tool to get all the political rubbish off the site. The Shadow Council is about one thing alone, my fellow Shadow Council members, striving to help the developers make the best Heroes 7 game possible. Heroes may never reach the level of the original Heroes of Might and Magic III game. In my humble opinion no one could out do that, but what we can do is help make this game the best possible. Hats off to the new mods.
Yeah, they should've been aware any new person that visits this site just leaves after reading all that rubbish.
Heroes of Might and Magic III - this deep shit!
I very much, hope that the new game HoMM VII, is the best of the series Heroes of Might and Magic
What did you just say
About Heroes III? (deathstare)
Okay, I will say for the deaf louder ...
HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC III - THIS DEEP SHIT!
dude, you now understand?
Heroes 3 is a master piece, that's all I have to say.
You just got the toilet award. Because that is one of the most insane comments I have ever read on this site.
The worst possible (and annoyingly overused) argument that is supposed to be in favour of any of the Ubisoft Heroes games is "nostalgia blinds you, they are better than you see them". Heroes V objectively failed on many levels even if you take it as a stand-alone game that exists in vacuum with no predecessors, let alone great ones. Yes, it had some good idea, yes, it even had some good ideas that were implemented well. No, the story doesn't end here. Is that so hard to grasp?
Before Tribes of the East, Heroes V was not even average from technical perspective (not to mention that the original release didn't even have a map editor and the game never really got an adequate one) and even though TotE arrived in a fairly playable state, some of the core issues could not be rooted out and are still not (Ashan...).
And agreed about Nephilim_13 getting the toilet award. Here you go: 🚽
You have a lot of awards left?
Give me the Gold CUP and Platinum Medal, then I'll change my opinion
it was my opinion, for me this game is the worst, how for you my comment
Some of our opinions are based on reason, critical inquiry, and even time-consuming research to learn more about the world around us. These are the sorts of opinions we can defend because we have a reasonable basis for them. We have taken care in how we formed them, doing so with deliberation. We can intelligently explain them to others, and in doing so, we might actually convince them that our opinion is valid even though this does not necessarily mean they will come to share it.
Other opinions reflect nothing more than our moment-to-moment emotional reactions to our surroundings. They evidence little to no thought, and many fall apart with even minimal reflection. If we do take a moment to critically examine them, we may even be ashamed to have ever had such opinions. And this is why many adults have learned to keep such opinions to themselves, lest they be subject to ridicule by others or simply regret launching a half-baked idea.
Now get out of here you infidel!
You call him an infidel, yet you refuse to worship the Spider Goddess? You should be destroyed for your blasphemy (to put it in Merikh's words).
Asha uses one spider to rule them all.
@ GalaadleHaut , Nephilim_13, Best - Her 5 !

Good way to describe your FELB-campaign :d.
Aaaaah, Galaad le Haut at his best, asight to behold:]
Hope you can keep in this marvelous (and frightening...) shape until the Ubisoft event in Paris. Take no prisoners;]
@Marble: We do not have the same notion of Infidels.
And so what, plenty people agreed with me.
I still don't understand the Ashan hate. It's not like it's the first fantastical universe to have gods in it.
If you really would've claimed to be your opinion, you would've said "I don't like Heroes III". Because now you are trash-talking a good game.
If that is what the term "Heroes fan" has turned into, I am really disappointed.
Well, it is not the first universe, yes, but the idea is getting a bit overused. There are quite many things to be inspired from, just take some classical masterpieces, like Planescape: Torment or Grim Fandango and voila! You should get a good game to play.
@Sligneris: Is mainly business. The trend changed over the years, and Ubisoft (as many others) chose to follow the LoTR influence in high fantasy design. The problem is, huge majority of the old fan base got pissed off as they don't like it. It has not the same feel nor atmosphere. And arguably straight out weird stuff like DE or spiders legs.
So while someone discovering the franchise with Ashan might like it, most old timers found it pretty awful and some experts even consider it garbage.
I know it is not the first universe, but I honestly like it way more than the original one. While perhaps not as... distinctive as the old world, I still find it pretty unique.
I'd honestly find mixing these universes together or just abandoning Ashan really, really regrettable. Call it "newcomer bias", or something, but that's how I feel about it.
Well, I do realize some old-timers might not like the change, but honestly, even if they did attempt to write the old universe, Ubi would still get the smack for "trying to ineptly imitate these masterpieces".
Not to mention that you can't exactly expect the plot and the world to stay the same if the people creating it go bankrupt...
I'm much more in favor of the High Fantasy style from LotR than sci-fi elements in a fantasy game, which M&M appeared to have (not sure about the old HoMM games, though).
I feel the need to throw in that it's the LoTR movies inspiration that Galaad is talking about that is polluting too many fantasy lores out there. I see the books to be dark fantasy actually (or at least a LOT darker than the movies) which the films failed to recreate. Or chose not to. Either way I hate what they did with the LoTR franchise itself and now it's radiating on everything else...
@Sligneris: Well, Axeoth with h4 did put an ending line to Enroth but never pretended Enroth never existed.
And I miss the Sword & Sorcery feel.
@ptrsc: Thank you.
@Marble: Yes but the sci-fi element never was hampering the game experience of the Heroes titles. If you didn't play other MM games, just no way to know that demons are kreegans etc.
While Ashan is shoving its lore down our throats affecting the visuals as well.
The fact that popular series and movies effect games isn't anything new. GoT was one of the first thoughts I had when I heard wolf haven, lotr has been big for good while now. Vampire concept from the teenage vampire series, it's all something I'm quite used to though I wish it didn't happen. At times I feel like they do the very over the top designs on same purpose in order to get the young demographic interested in the game. It's all done to attract larger demographics to try out the game IMO.
As for Ashan, I don't really have problems with the basic concept(s). The biggest problem for me is the lore or more specificly the fact that the lore gets treated like a divine law. It should be something to give direction, not specify everything and put limits on everything. Lore should be something that can be toyed with, it should have leniency in it. The problems rise because Ubi has so many games in same universe worked at same time and they try to make them all coherent with each other.
They could just say some games are alternative takes on history or some factions are the minority of the faction so they are very different from other games. The fact that they limit it all to follow the lore instead of making lore fit the game is a huge limitation IMO. I do expect some logic in the time-line, but not utter slavery to the lore.
I kinda agree and disagree at the same time. I am a storymode guy, I usually play campaign most of all even if the story is not very good. For me the lore as a whole must be consistent, even between games. Otherwise there's no point in creating deep, interesting lore. Of course there's no denying the moves you listed, surely in gamedev lore becomes restricting rather quick. At that point you change the setting...
@ptrsc: Exactly. You should be able to create any setting you like, and if that setting is to be changed you can just switch. As it is, things are either stagnating or you need solid explanations for every change.
I'm not taking any side in this as I have chosen the path of wisdom and will stay on th proverbial fence. But I will say that all of you raise some valid points. And i won't try and change your views. I'll just say "Thank you all" for freely expressing your opinions in so civil a fashion. All of you are awesome. AS for looking for a good copy of Heroes III I recommend either U-Play or GOG.com
lmao that's cool pal and all but you see people registered here are looking forward to h7 lol
And if the supremacy of Heroes III is proven beyond reasonable doubt once again, is not a reason not to try to fix current major problems of the franchise.
"Change", in and of itself has never been an issue for us old timers. Not really.
However, change for its own sake, without a real understanding of what makes this series so successful (as I really feel is the best way to sum up H6) does no one any good.
This has always been a fan's game. Fan made maps, campaigns, and stories. I like the direction being taken now, even if I don't care for some of the choices of fans. I expect, with a good map editor, this one will be good.
Never reach the level of the original Heroes III game??
Surely you're not talking about the vanilla game. You can go on steam and see what H3 fans think of the vanilla H3 game. Most of them didn't remember how empty the original release really was. Compared to that, H4, H5 and H6 had more.
Let's not get bogged down in semantics though, H3 is successful because of its full budget and the fantastic fan-made mods. That's how you get a better Heroes game.
Heroes III atmosphere + Heroes V gameplay = Next Heroes game phenomenon.
As for defining atmosphere, is S&S vs LoTR. Then if you prefer one of the other indeed is personal preference, although we can take criteria to define if is well-done or not.
I do share deeply ptrsc comment on the matter.
I guess that the war will end with peace arrangment between stag and griffin douchy by marriage of King Ivan with Nolwenn.
If i remember it right, during war between Kreegans and Humans of Erathia/Tatalia some of the neighbors tried to usurpe some soil and riches for themselves. Why in Ashan is everyone so good that they dont want take some advantage from Human wars? DAMN If i would be a necromancer i would use all this dead soldiers and civilians and take everything under my control!
Well maybe they will actually do that, especially since some necromancers already have made contact with the Stag duchy (if i am correct) to get back some lands from the wizards that they lost. There is a chance they won't leave it with that and try to get some more lands.
And what is the #GROS=)?
That was actually the Bull Duchy.
"Giovanni had come to offer Amílcar an alliance, of sorts. The Necromancers would put several legions of Black Guard mercenaries under the Bull’s command. In exchange, all they wanted was Illuma-Nadin. Erected on the border Heresh shared with the Bull Duchy, this Necromancer outpost had been conquered by the Wizards during the War of the Broken Staff, and had been occupied by the Bull’s forces since then. Now the Spider Cult wanted it back."
We already have a necromancer. Giovanni the vempire.
Ah yes i know it would have been too good to be true :P. Thanks Marble. Anyway they still could have been planning just more then that.
To be fair, the necromancers have been beaten silly recently in the War Of The Broken Staff so they probably don't want any attention but it is strange that no outside forces are trying to take advantage of the Haven turmoil.
I can imagine dark elves marching to Falcon empire as revenge for times when knights support elves of irrolan durring persecution of D.elves led by Tuidhana. Dwarfs or Elves supporting Realm just because they want to see dark elves vanished from surface of Ashan. Orcs, okay they are with Ivan, but they should smash the crusaders for their past actions against them. And Academy, isnt there any power hungry wizzard or sorceress?
Evil Mages, has that ever happend?
Only once I think. Gavin Magus in H4.
If I´m not wrong the orcs were with ivan due to an old debt so once they had liquidated it only some orcs remind on Ivan´s side as his allies the others being neutral.
I miss that too, that lovey-dovey neighbours is one of the most boring result of the all-worship-dragons idea. The Empire is the most powerful in the region but there should be someone trying to seize the opportunity after several years (!) of civil war! Especially when there are no signs telling it will end soon...
I agree with you @Matoob, everyone in Ashan is so nice, bland and uninteresting (except for Sandro).
The other factions should be taking advantage of the situation.

It's a new Golden Age for the Heroes 7 blogs! I can't wait to see what they'll do when they release Stronghold and people have "strong" opinions about it haha. Suddenly there's hope where there wasn't hope before.
Well they still have to do something about spiderpolis and some of the units. But yeah they really can't afford another mistake. And i really think it's a bad idea to make ppl more angry, especially removing complaints comments (yeah they said they remove those with cursing and demanding of firing someone, but complaints and criticism should not be deleted).
imagine if this was done when Spiderpolis was released. No redesigning of Vampires and Liches.
Well they can't forbid people to rant.
I hope they are capable of realizing when a comment is a well expressed critic and when it's only insults.
Otherwise, what's the point of this blog? Eat and praise everything the show us?
This is a public service announcement
In order to preserve the sanity of your fellow forum goers, please take any and all future gender comments and put them here.
I feel like this forum is rotting my brain.
why do you hate men? Did you ever love your father? Do you have a brother or uncle maybe?
when was the last time you told your father you love him? Oh wait, I guess never. You probably hate him like how you hate all men. You ashamed of your gender bro?
Guess a disclaimer should be put on the main site. Since I ain't a dev, I will have to do so here.
DO NOT ENTER UNLESS YOU ARE FIT FOR SURVIVAL.
attack of the Clones )))))))))))
meh. Sensitivity is for pussies. Toughen up bitches!!!! Be a man.
I have to sigh at the fact that some people seem to think a comment like.
I feel like this forum is rotting my brain.
is a man-hating comment.
I don't think Raging called him a man-hater for stating that comment. If you follow Matooob's posting patterns, he hates it when you criticize women and radically calls you a misogynist for just giving criticism. If it's men who are being criticized, he remains silent.
ProudMisogynist : I'd hardly call it "radically calling you a misogynist for just giving a criticism." It's in your name.
The disrespect towards women in some of these posts has been disgusting.
You act as if defending women means we've chosen a side - as if respecting women means disrespecting men. It's a ridiculously immature and paranoid point of view.
Blah, lore again... Where are articles about game-play and game-mechanics!?!? Goddamnit I had a bad feeling next few weeks we get nothing but fillers and lore and looking grim so far! -.-
They just prepare their asses for Galaadle's visit. :D They can't concentrate under such pressure.
Jaelle's article was part 1. 😀
Some people do care about lore you know, but they don't comment because of the comment section.
Exactly. Even if you are not interested in story, that doesn't mean that plot-related articles like this pointless for everybody, so stop crying, please.
Mhm. I bet part two will be kitchen of Limbic's office, their shower-after-jogging-room, what do they have for dinner and still nothing about their relation and opinion/vision about the development of Heroes game.
Yeah, even if it is an interesting article, I'd still prefer to have game mechanics explained.
Nekrodemon, we don't cry, we talk our talk lol. Or is the comments section is for praisers-only? ;)
No matter how good story-telling can be, we still get spider legs and other weird stuff.
@Nekro well I would appreciate it if they could at least say in advance that "for the next 3-4 weeks you will be getting nothing but lore related articles or off-topic articles like where we work". With this I can read as personal translation that nothing of interest will be coming for next 3-4 weeks, no point in visiting the site. ;)
Well, they did actually said that... That they are now focusing toward the event so there won't be many 'meaningful' updates until then.
@Ptrsc on HC they said they are all about quality not quantity and don't wanna put in fillers as articles... How would you describe last weeks fillers... I mean articles...? Last article with some real info in it was pretty much 2 weeks ago, after that no real news/info has been given about the game(just empty articles which I consider total fillers).
Oh, okay, point taken.
I'm not present at HC so I obviously missed that:)
I'm glad they added moderation to the comments section, but I fear it might not be enough. There has to be a change in mentality also. This place was much more fun when it was about the Shadow Council, the Spy Master telling us things, and we were the councilors.
Now? It feels more like a bar where 90% of what is said is either trash talk, off-topic or fillers, the majority of which is posted by a handful of people. It lost its atmosphere.
Mb the thing is not in the poor mentality (u can't gather only perfect people) but in the lack of news mostly? ;)
All problems started with the votings.
Lack of news, but also, more importantly imo, lack of votes.
LACK OF QUALITY ARTICLES.
God damnit, only piece of garbage they transfer us can only lead to unhealthy speculation and this whole system turned us all against each other even before we realized it.
But I just realize I placed this rant under one good article so, that was not well-placed. Sorry about that.
But just last week we had long great articles full of useful great content about the game... After all they don't wanna publish fillers as articles as they said on HC... Quality over quantity, you know?^^
which articles such comments
And once again you guys have created a story that is absolutely FANTASTIC! The pictures are absolutely marvelous. And now I'm beginning to understand Ivan's motivation for doing what he's doing. The Empire has got a serious problem and a leader who is flying off the deep end into psychotic paranoia. And Nolwenn, RAWR she's a beauty all right. You folks have outdone yourselves with the characters and the story. Keep up the good work folks.
Great Part. I love Nolwenn's green eyes.
BTW I can't wait where the DLC's story (of course if the DLC will be released and about Demons I hope:) ) will be written
Yes, thoose eyes are graceful.
Green eyed red heads are the best!
Do you have one? :D
It would be interesting to have the art of this heroine in more dress than winged armour.
Me to. that's the reason why, Ubi should creat more campagn with heroine
At the moment, creatures from Necropolis fractions and Haven, are the most successful ...
Creatures of the Academy, I was a little disappointed ...
I think that from the initial six fractions, Necropolis and remains the most successful fraction!
For academy it's just copy paste same lineup whit diffrent look for rest its just matter of taste ;)
the only thing I do not like the Necropolis is the soundtrack (composition should sound scary, but this waltz was not needed)
I actually like Academy a lot. Cabirs are a little bit weird, but who said that the units in a faction's army can't be cute?
... matter of taste : )
Actually, what is wrong about the current lineups?
The only thing I don't like is the lack of Faceless in the Dungeon army, but this can be justified as them disappearing from the face of Ashan once more, just like how they don't show up in Heroes V.
In some whay they aren't gone;), first faceless will tell the story of dungeon to Ivan and second strider are their puppet for battefield so they don't risk thier life ;)
I do not want to offend fans fraction Academy, but these creatures look very funny!
This fraction is similar to the Circus ... :)
I liked the two beings: a bird and titan ( but titan could do better )
Its called ''faction''. ''fraction'' is the percentage of something
Well, I do like it. Compared to H5, Golems look more mechanical and massive, Gargoyles look less silly, Rakshasas look more realistic, Titans look less weird.
thank you! I will remember :)
Titans in Heroes 5 - are the best!
They are powerful and beautiful
Necropolis the most successful? Hahaha that's one hilarious joke
dude, we're a long time will laugh at this joke in the new game ... haha
Moderation is here, hold your ☂
No more korbáčik :c
Hold my mushrooms?
Never joke your jokes with The Mushroom! http://rghost.ru/8lCzvYcYv/image.png
here is one korbáčik cxxxxxxx<
@marble it is a tree! I though that it is obvious
I thought that was an umbrella.
hokej lepší než vaši houby ... :)
Lol nobody spotted a joke I did? :P
I should quit
My heath will be broken and it would be the betrayal to end all Ubisoft betrayals, if after making such an interesting universe, we get a shitty generic champagne, full of forgettable and boring characters! Pls no!
H7 has the potential to have the best story so far!
yes, lets hope it will be as good as it seems...
i have great hopes for haven campaign
i fear a bit for the necropolis camp. Anastasia again? nahh
denisa, I absolutely agree with you
I rather have a small article with news about gameplay and mechanics, than a dozen about lore and how is Limbic HQ.
Totally agree... I need convincing that game is good to play and lore will definitely not do that for me. Lore I will get while playing, all here I will just forget by the time game is out. Even when game is out lore will be completely secondary to me, I will play the campaign once or twice and after that it's just pure custom/multiplayer-games.
But they can't give gameplay informations every days, or we would already have the complet game, for now ! ^^
Which would be great. At least we would know firsthand if we would buy this game instead of crawling back here every once in a while without knowing anything game play wise - and worst, possibly wasting time if we don't approve it when it's released. Talk about the feeling of being hoodwinked.
We will probably know a lot more on the gameplay after the fanday, so until then, I'm fine to get some lore and trivia article.
Well they could create books with story from all the M&M franchises and sell them for a small price. This even could help them cover some expenses for making the game. They are making the lore right now anyway. Wich all this time and energy could be spend on creating the game.
This may be my inner paranoia speaking. But I don't think that Wilhelm is doing this for selfless reasons. I think that he's trying to gain power as being the real head of the empire, or subtly manipulating it for another faction. I say that one of these two could be the case because I'm betting Seamus' odd behavior is a result of Wilhelm doing something.
So a puppet and a puppeteer after all...do you think Seamus's apparent madness is caused by Wilhelm, or is Wilhelm using said madness to his advantage? Seamus is clearly unstable and on the verge of ruling with an iron fist. Maybe Wilhelm is waiting for the right moment.
Also, if ever we meet him in a campaign, he should go out with a Wilhelm Scream.
I'm thinking it's caused by Wilhelm, or at least heightened by him. It seems like Seamus was a good leader before but now he's going insane. I can see some added stress, but you'd think having the church supporting him would make him calmer, make him know, or at least think more firmly, that he was in the right. It would be one thing if he directed this anger against his enemies, but he's targeting his own family as well. Something doesn't sit right with that.
I think you may be right. He's probably the one that suggested the use of crusaders which may be more loyal to the heroic archbishop than some Stag Emperor-wannabe. He also wouldn't need any magic to heighten the paranoia, just the right words - think Grima the Wormtongue:) And in the end we may even see that Wilhelm is not Wilhelm after all...
LOL, the Wilhelm scream ^^
Yep, like you said, it only takes saying the right set of words to heighten paranoia and make on think that everyone except the speaker is turning against him and plotting his downfall.
Wouldn't surprise me to learn that the crusaders were called out on his recommendation, especially if they also took over the role of Seamus' personal guard. It would place them in exactly the right position to initiate a coup once everything was united again and hand directly or discretely control to Wilhelm
Sometimes it takes little for a person in power to go mad. Remember Alaric, the red bishop who thought he served Isabel but discovered it was Biara?
Something must have triggered Seamus. If it wasn't his mad desire for power that occupied his mind, then what was? Would it be logical if he went mad after accomplishing his goal? Few can handle power, many succumb to it.
Remember that he was a Duke already, probably for quite some time, judging by his looks. Power was no novelty to him, nor were the responsibilities of rulership. And judging by his actions during this very civil war he is quite a wily person, diligent and possibly a bit cynical, I'd say wiser and definitely more wily (wilier?;D) than our beloved Duke Ivan...
He actually could be quite difficult to manipulate...
You don't have to write 'sir' xD.
True, he was in a position of some power already. But being emperor is a whole other cup of tea. Now he has dominion over an enormous territory. Even though he became obsessed with becoming emperor, would he have realized what it would...mean? The things he could do, the territories he would control?
Maybe he's being manipulated (I mean, every one has a breaking point somehow, even angels), or maybe he's genuinly crazy. Time will tell.
True, but perhaps someone figured out what his weakness was mentally. That one thing which constantly bothered him and all it would take is working on that to make him go insane. Like slowly driving a knife through the flaw in a piece of armor, just slowly widening it until it breaks completely.
You know, sir, your Wilhelm idea totally explains WHY the church (or rather - Wilhelm) actually supported Seamus - and that was my biggest issue with this story! :D
I mean, within church of Elrath there HAS to be some secret member of the Dragon Knights, possibly in a position of power as well and he would try to win church's support for Ivan...
Thanks, can I maybe get an upvote then so that this can get into the top comment section here. I want to get this thought out there and still find-able after the inevitable spam flood.
Upvote given :)
You could post it on HC too, at least there you are free of any spam/troll flooding.
Don't have an HC account actually.
I find your theory quite likely, Niwroc. Having a puppet-emperor would be very convenient for the church of Elrath, even more so considering how Empress Gwendolyn separated state from the church after H6. Or it just could be Wilhelm wanting power for himself. There's also a possibility of other interested parties being involved.
I just hope Seamus is really crazy not just influenced by evil magic or replaced by a demon like Isabel :D
Upvoted of course, have no idea why I didn't do it earlier...
I dunno, I like the idea with Wilhelm. As long as it isn't a demon or Sandro in disguise. But having a maniacal priest trying to bring Elrath's peace to the entire world... Or even the simply power hungry madman... Also what you said, a cold, political plot of the entire church sounds awesome:] These are nothing fresh, true, but just seem so... real... :)
