Looks like an upgrade to a system I already liked. I'm looking forward to it.
I have to say I am most disappointed upon hearing these restrictions. I've been asking questions about this for a while and it looks like they have already been answered (and the answers are strangely quiet and hidden). I'm sorry to say but this has made me lose a lot of interest in the game. I mean, I'm not finding a class that captures well the way I want to play, and if I can't play the way I want to then I don't really want to play. I hope an expansion adds freedom.

After long evaluation I still would like us, the customers, to be able to choose out of ALL possibilities and not have only 2 to choose from. What if I want a fireball throwing Naga with lightning fast movement? It is the weird that makes a fantasy game work!

i just disagree with this concept. i don't like playing archetype. and this is what this skill system will do.
i hope every heroes can access to everything. (eventually some restriction like necromancy or one school locked but no more!! )
Having some random choice is important : if you chose everything, you will just build each time the same thing,
and you will stop playing after finishing the main history. and that's all...
(that's what i ve done for H6...)

The total system and philosophy is wrong. THe explanation above proves all my fears. It is way too simplistic and restrictivre because Ubisoft is afraid to build a complex games that requires thought RPG! and strategy.
