Good day Councilors! Personally I like the environment overall. As they said, creature scales still need work but generally I like what see. I don't think we'll be able to move the camera like that in the game and that's a shame cuz' there are lots of cool effects and shapes.

I agree with this. I'll suggest that they change the Ghost's Vigilance ability to Incorporeal.
I dont get why they removed it, along with other like lich deatch cloud, vampire no retaliation. So they removed this unique abilities in the favor of repeating other ones. Is there really no other way how to balance things as making them all identical? They completely changed necro core philosophy ... I guess it would be too "retro" and people demand 'new' boring stuff. And I havent seen what they done to elves so far ...please ubi, just fire your lore guy-he is doing exeptionally terrible job.
I would prefer no retialiation for vampires and death cloud for liches. Both abilities were always except in H6.
Sad that they prefer copy H6 instead of H5 or others.
Very very nice model of the female hero, the quality is quite good.
On the other hand we have LEGO CITY and lava which resemble graphic quality from 2005.

Old resources were far superior to new ones, this is thing that was constant in all previous games and nobody was complaining about it. It was part of heroes universe. I see no logic in changing good stuff to worse - new ones are hard to distinguish - too much alike. Standard camera position would be also much more appreciated as that is the way how game will be seen, overall it seems there is too few adventure objects to interact with. I am still hoping for miracle here.
I'd merge Crystals and Gems into one Crystal resource, like they did in Heroes VI, but I'd keep Sulfur and Mercury as they were.
But what for? On the contrary I would even add more resources, the ones that would be only possible to get from quests or special places during special ocasions - very rare ones. Overall whole economy aspect is on the level of H1 right now. No improvement whatsoever. Changing names and look of resources is worst posible way of bringing "something new". Its confusing and creates detouchment from original universe = lost fans.
But you bring up a very interesting point mentioning the lost fan base Logical Dust.
I'm being more and more convinced is this change of trend from Sword and Sorcery to LoTR feel.

I agree, the new resources are very similiar to each other, have similiar names and are all metal like... I wish they would leave them as they were or just add a more common resource that would be easier to remember...
Can someone please explain the Resource Bar, It goes - Wood, Ore, Gems..... (then I get lost :D ) I have always liked the classic H5 economy complexity (not very complex, but needs strategy). A little bit complicated to understand your logic thus far. We truly believe that the creative direction given to Necropolis is a huge mistake and the quality of the townscreens are awful. We are not doing this because we are bad evil trolls, we do it because we care about this game as much as you (or even more).

Briliant idea, Articun made good job while implementing this system in even extensive way 5/5/3, im sure you can do it too. 4/4/3 in general means that when you are taking decisions BladeDancer/EmeraldWarrior, Abbot/Glory, Mummy/Ghoul etc... you can implement both. On the other side doing well balanced 5/5/3 with more cities can be insanly hard.
I am very curious how will you extend your line ups, till this day you made GJ so i have no worries about this new concept.
I am always in favor of more choices and more replayability.
yeah 5/5/3 would be too hard i think for some factions it's easy to create some new units but for others it's really hard, that;s why i chose 4/4/3, idk if you saw but those are my propositions to extand factions

Yes, more replayability. 5/5/3 + alt. upgr. and little design diversions. For example it would be nice to have like 3 differt design variants for some units. Like furs when you start at snow terrain, maybe bit different weapons, symbols and colors of uniform (depending on players colour).
But to be not too difficult 4/4/3 or even 4/4/2 with alternatives would be enough for me.
With 5/5/3 system when you choose 2 units from every tier to not participate in your line up Dungeon faction can be made for both Warlock / DarkElf fans. Where in core and in elite you would have 3 classic creatures and 2 elves to choose from. For champs Hydra/Dragon/Faceless can satisfy everyone i think. The problem would be only with campaign if there will be only one whith Dungeons. If there would be great nuber of campaign lines, both camp can be satisfied.
I actually liked that you could choose in H4. The only problem i had with this was that it was unbalanced and that you could not change it (by destroying a building and replace it with another building). You were always stuck with it, so if you did not like the choices your enemies made you have to adjust to that.
I really hope we can implement this ourselfs with the extreme modding tools, cause i do not see Limbic doing this.

I love the idea of larger creature pool to choose from too :) It gives so many variations of a faction's line-up, resulting in infinite possible strategies and great replayability. Would be perfect if H7 was mod-friendly enough to let fans implement it :3
You know what's the worst about copying everything from H6? That they are not embarrassed about it, at all. I would even say, they are proud they can take as much as they can from the most criticized Heroes.
Normaly what one would do is to read very very carefully what went wrong with last game, and not what they thought went wrong, but fans that spend days, weeks and months playing Heroes, and turn everything upsidedown. Instead they are doing this.....
But somehow dev have very odd way of thinking, and I wonder whether we are going to understand it, ever?
Well they did have some h6 stuff even decorating the office... They probably fell in love with the idea of being able to copy shit from h6, some even directly! I really hope Galaad will bring some very good news regarding the game from the press-event ;P
I agree with you. One of the worst things is that they didn`t put enough effort in the townscreens, even though they saw the reaction of the fans when H6 didn`t have them. I tought they would put more care into designing them after that.

Heroes VI really wasn't so bad: The creatures were lovingly designed, the scenery was wonderful... Why not reuse a proven well designed creature? I have nothing against it! The money could be better spent: Possibly in town-screens, possibly in a huge number of neutral creatures, possibly in a new fraction... I have many ideas!!
(By the way... there are nicer creatures than the Lich in Heroes VI; we agree that it needs to be changed)
A bugless product would have been a start.
The problem is when they shamelessly copy/paste everything including the, pardon me, crappy designs like the lich. It would be one thing if they changed the things they new for a fact were despised or at least admitted that they are having budget/time issues. While they claim they aren't underfunded, I honestly do not believe it because there is so much that shows that they do not have the resources they need at all.
Copying some, don't like it but fine. Copying all is just laziness.
They said on heroescommunity that they had good return about H6 necropolis. H6 is the most recent game, so they probably have more feedback about it. Maybe many players said that in this bad game, necropolis is the better. XD

There have been plenty of constructive feedback during this Sheldon Cooper council of heroes since it started. Right now there are just regretfull statements. Pointless really giving some suggestions now as chance for them to be implmented is close to zero. Ubisoft did it once again their way, completely ignoring fanbase. We got clever illusion of being part of development.

I must admit that these things were achieved through spamming rather than constructive discussions...but it's something.
@ Marblethrone : Its marginally nothing. There is no info on how GURS will really work, it might be completely unusable. Rework of 2 units will not save necro from spiders. Its sort of hard to ignore all that flame that was around here regarding this topic, yet ubisoft almost managed it. But sure "completely ignoring" might not be mathematically precise, however "illusion of being part" is quite spot on.

I think it's bad unless these are such abilities like "no counter attack"or "cannot be flanked".
What wee have now is too much sweep ability, piercing shot even though these abilities might work a bit different form each other.
The more different, cool and the most important usefull abilities the better, coz it makes each faction playing different.

Replicates abilities are obviously lazy and uninspired.
There are many units, not all of them can be unique. I can live with a few repetitive abilities as long as they are not overused, like for 4 or 5 units.
But yeah, I basically agree.

I think it's ok as long as they are quite discernible in their other roles (flying, ranged, very different basic stats). Which I cannot vouch for almost the entire Necropolis line up, where we have 5 non upgraded units that are basically too similiar, even considering that one or another may fly. That's a 'problem' with upgrading, imho. They fear making a unit full of abilities then they just make them full of nothing, a bland figure. I would rather have no upgrades at all.
2 units having same abilities is something I can live with but I'm not too fond of, more is just lame, unimaginative and lazy :/
Unique skills for creatures should be something that makes factions different from one another, there are so many possibilities for special abilities so having any 2 creatures with the same Sweep for example is such a waste of potential. I'd rather have unbalanced factions, than the same.

And now we have the gameplay part. What we have? - A lack of unique abilities. Initiative system from H6 (the easier one and cheaper one to make - or rather to copy).
I remember a lot of people protecting developers, mocking sceptical ones and saying that only gameplay matters.

IIRC it won't be initiative system directly taken from H6, it will be changed - it's said in some article. We need more info on this matter - gameplay video would show it the best.
As far as I recall, it won't be the H5 system, even though the poll at HC was in favor of it.
I don't really understand why not reuse H5 initiative system. They say it's too complicated - ok I believe that and understand that with limited time & resources recreating it would be very hard. But they have the code, don't they? Nival made H5 for Ubi so it's obvious have the source code. It would need to be rewritten to work with new game, but it can't be that damn hard.
I think H4 initiative/turn system was a nice thing they could try implementing. Initiative being mainly controlled by morale - and thus being affected by results in battle as well.
It looks like the game is lacking everything in every department, whether one judge that department important or not. Although I don't mind much about fancy graphics and I find it's a waste, I don't like the idea of having copies of or other graphics or being simply too akin the last installment, similar to an expansion, nor I like lazy done TSs. I do like mechanics - however, nothing really substantial has been revealed and nothing that was revealed was whooping either.
You touch a very sensitive topic which requires lots of creative and balancing acts. Heroes 6 lacks both, hence it has nothing worth mentioned. It is Okay for many creatures sharing the same ability as long it makes senses and limits to 2-3 creatures for entire game. Based solely on H3 and H5, each creature should have about 2-3 abilities. Only tier 6 & 7 creatures may have more than 3. One of those abilities may be faction ability. The rest should be unqiue to each creature.
It is even better to have vanilla creatures with no special ability than seeing too much "creativity". The simpleness ang greatness of H3 is beyond comparison with the scrap of H6. As far as the progress of H7 has been going, it has not met my standard like others have stated regarding the availability and uniqueness in creatures' abilities. We need more diversity.
If they had a lot of abilities it wouldn't hurt as much, but when you have like 1-2 abilities and the same abilities are found with other units as well it makes them really stand out. Even more so as the defining ability is defining for other units too(I mean how are crossbowman and stalker any different, their only ability is the same -.-). So far we have:
3x Piercing shot
8x Undead(since they decided this is an ability)
I do think that H3/H4 initiative system is the best. I loved it that tactics in H4 could made your units act earlier and even move a bit further.
I am worried about Sylvan TownScreen and Town itself. The artworks they bring us are amazing, i was totaly out of the pictures, but real models seems to be, sorry devs, totally terrible and are going to be even worse. This paper city on map... If Necro is planned to be on same design level i would laugh my ass off and Cry in same moment. You know, Lego Spider.

I don`t understand why they didn`t put more money and effort in making good townscreens. After the fail with H6 one would think they will learn their lesson and give us amazing townscreens right away from the start! I hope that these townscreens are just concept arts or something because they`re really dissapointing... As a lot of people said: they are appropriate for a mobile game but not for a Heroes game!

Ignoring the visual part is a big mistake. Beautiful townscreens and uniquely designed units are what makes a game memorable.
And even though the fanbase may not be that big, they should know that townscreens are very important to the existing fans by now and therefore should give them more attention.
After they got forced to hastily make townscreens in H6? I doubt that...

Well as an example, huge majority of people into Horn of the Abyss and WoG, they are not interested, at all, into h7.

So the devs didn't manage to satisfy even me, and after all the hate they gathered for H6 it's unbelievable that Ubi didn't change approach:|

Ptrsc most likely they target h6 fans and new fans mainly. So far the game reminds most of h6, but i don't think they could make it as bad as h6 was.
But even Ubi knows, although won't admit it, that H6 was a failure (withdrawal from most of it's 'brilliant' gameplay ideas), they cannot target non-existing fanbase of a failed product... Well, whatever.
We already know that at least adventuring will be better than H6 - thanks to the abandoning of H6 innovations. I'm quite concerned though about how will battles turn out to be with this flanking system - I hope our emissaries will tell us after the conference:)
