@Mekal, try to use "Verify files" option on steam after rebooting it. Probably it downloaded a wrong version of the patch.

I'm merely trying to give some hand to those who already decided buying the game, but are not aware of some information I came across in forums I visit. It's really not going to take much of my time, and it might give a little of peace to these troubled minds. ^^

"Some people seem to not be downloading the correct version or the download is not going through correctly. So to confirm you should see on the menu screen 1.2 - 32489 THIS is the correct patch. If you are seeing 1.1 you DO NOT have the patch. To that end, close steam and uplay. Reopen them, click play and see if it downloads the correct patch. Failing that do a Verify files option on Steam/Uplay which will kick in the download. "
Use Steam to do that.

well it turns out Steam did not return my money. you can't play the game for more than two hours and you can't own the game for more than two weeks. so my money went to the ubiceo bank account. lesson learned. this will be the absolute last ubicrap game I buy at full price. I promise you that any ubi game bought from this guy will be from the bargain bin after two years of needed patching.

Info then, not the patch itself its seems. That's an important decision, giving the heads up. People should know what to expect from it. Sometimes what they are expecting a fix is not the thing being targeted straight away. It might avoid further anger.

After patching i cant start the game anymore.
The game only crash when i try to start it.
