Also, please do not close the curtains on important topics like Skillwheel, Magic system, Specializations, etc.

You talk business man. Also, more abilities to the creatures, some are downgrades when compared to previous releases. The skill system is the major thing for me, when it's not free for the player to choose how to compose one's hero it's just no point at all to even play the game. I mean, rpg-strategy without rpg or strategy elements, what is it? Shit.

The magic system and might vs magic are very important for the game to be feasible. Hero specialization too.

And by 'free to choose' I mean that the game should give the same options on level up as before and then you choose from them. Not any baby level game where one can choose where to spend some 'level up point' nor that the hero build should be preset and then just 'open' the locked skills.

One more thing I'd like to say is that the game is hugely imbalanced in the respect that there are 2 super creatures per town. It should be that 3 basic units, 3 elite units and 1 super creature like before. Then it's in balance. I'm with the idea that there are more creatures per town but the additions should be lower levels and second upgrades.

Let's say 3-3-1 and 1 additional dwelling on 1st 3 lvls and another on the 4-6 lvls giving only few creatures more (no boost on upgrading the town).

At the moment there are too many super creatures and they are suddenly common creatures. It shouldn't be that way. The top creatures should be top and rare, not everyday bread and butter.

Though I like the idea of another 7th level creature per faction, but it could be just 1 creature per week or something making the game much more strategic in regards of distributing the town troops between heroes. Also, it's a good idea to have more creatures in town dwellings than one can have per hero

Well since I had a chance to take part in beta, I think it would be fair to share some impressions too:
1) Overall the game is better than I expected. My general impression is more neutral than negative. Though I'm not sure that "neutral" impression is something good for the game of "HOMM" series.
2) Skill pizza is not that much crappy than I expected but still it feels wrong. Way out of common heroes mechanics.
3) SCALE. The most annoying thing in beta. Fix it.

'Skill pizza' :D I like it, the expression, you're damn right it just feels wrong for a game which bears the Heroes name. The way it works is just wrong for this series.

This review isn't good at all lol. I just say that it's better than I expected. And I expected the total crap.
Did you see town screens? They are hilarious. They make impression of low-quality browser game with 2d static picture and looped animations. Pretty much 8-bit dendy style.
Details are low and the camera is so damn ugly that it's kinda you watch an ant farm without knowing dafuque are those small bastards doing.

I totally agree with 3, it seems like little has been done on that part since Beta 1. That doesn't only go for building or stack size, but also number size when you view a neutral army, for instance. The numbers are just too small to read properly. And perhaps a 4 I'd like to add: building outlines when you construct something new, so that you can see what goes where (instead of having to find it by chance or something).

In and of itself, the skill pizza is a fairly good idea. The trouble is that it is entirely fixed and eliminates so many possible hero builds that it becomes a liability.

I would like to see the developers determine 3-5 skills that define a class (Expert, Master and GM). The other 5 (give or take) could be randomly determined at the start of the map and/or with first hire (out of the Hall of Heroes).

Overall.. Second Beta was better than first one. It worked smoothly. I was able to see creatures attacking.
But still the game has many flaws...
For example sudden crashes like when attacking army on the map. Or when attacking enemy heroes/castles.
And graphics are like "nah"... It is like blurry mush to be honest..

I don't say that it should be flawless. No game is flawless.. But you still have work to do!

And please for sake of fans and me, LET US CHOOSE THE SKILLS THAT HERO CAN LEARN!!

Please, fix the scale. Really. It's awful, freaking awful, it makes the game unplayable. Everything looks tiny!! The troops are too small, the cities are too small, the treasure chests are too small, the buildings in the tech tree are too smal... are you playing in a cinema screen? Really. FIX THE SCALE!!!

Well i think this is the greatest idea ever, make a game called heroes of might and magic like it was the first, make it 2D with HD sprites, with the color and art of heroes of might and magic 1-2, add all the stuff that was introduced since heroes 3 (the good stuff) and online play. Market like hell as the definitive heroes experience and a return to the original roots that began it all. Take our moneys. Who agrees with me?

Except Ubi cannot do that. They cannot have the sci-fi element, nor they do support the fundamental mechanics used before H4. That's why Ashan was introduced in the first place. To make the transition possible, as there is nothing that binds Ashan to the old worlds.

Except, of, course, retarded easter eggs, such as hero/location names or WWII tanks.

and i don't understand why a 3d game has 2d cities, one of the things i liked on heroes 5 was that cities were 3d and still pretty, i dont get this.
I also think that with the popularity and revival of 2D games nowadays (retro and HD 2d), that a 2D homm game that returns to the art style of heroes of might and magic 2 with HD 2D graphics and smooth gameplay like heroes 3, would even be a better direction than this 3D kind of games. I personally would love that.

we have all played heroes 3 to exhaustion. there is nothing new. Also although the game is 2D the color palette is too dark and serious while previous games were more colorful. i think it is better for heroes to be more colorful, and the 3d games are good on that aspect. But a colorful 2d hd game with all new things to explore, and faster gameplay that 2d allows, and the lower pc requirements needed to run it, would bring back many people to homm, and would be a great comeback for the series

Strider is crap in my opinion he looks like a bad done faceless i would have been much happier whit the faceless or manticore, he is like the radian glory in H6, a fail attempt to do something new.

1) There should be an icon to open creature details screen instead of having to hold down the right mouse button. We can see the pretty skill icons creatures that have, but we have no idea what the skill does.
2) A progress bar during load screens and opponent turns would be nice.

Почему вы все настроены так негативно, что к игре, что к команде разработчиков!
Бета показала себя вполне достойно! Особенно на максимальных настройках графики!
У кого вылетает и слабые компы, ну тут уж извините!
По поводу всех ошибок и багов, так ведь к релизу поправят, если нет то следующим близжайшем патчем.
По поводу ИИ, уже разработчики писали. Что скоро они его полностью отладят и не надо им об этом постоянно писать!

В том-то и дело, что многие расходятся в вопросе как выглядит игра, как она ходит и какие звуки издаёт. Кому-то она выглядит, ходит и звучит как Герои, а вот Мурке крякает. Поэтому и вспоминается сауспарк. Одни слышат музыку, а другой звуки испражнения... Такие дела.

Не пойму, почему я должен тебе описывать очевидное. Если тебе нравится жить в розовом вымышленном мире (ну или ты на самом деле любишь говно, такое случается), то я тут тебе не помощник. Но я ж никому и не запрещаю в это играть. Дело личное. Кому-то и шестёрка ок. Но я не врач и ментальные проблемы лечить - не моя парафия. ;)

List over things that could be added:

1) An option to turn off vegetation animation.
Really, this is more annoying than beautiful on weaker computers. Being able to turn of the animation of trees and possibly the shadows of the coulds as well would really help the game run better on lesser good computers...

2) The ability to decide which skills a hero can learn.
Basicly, only the grandmaster skills should be locked. This would really help making the hero development more fun and immersive.

3) More diverse grandmaster skills.
We know, offence and defence is important, but the fact that we have so many of the same grandmaster skills is just plain boring. Like not all of Sylvans magic heroes needs grandmaster earth.

4) Hero specialzations that increases by levels.
We haven't said this enough, haven't we..? But seriously, we widely perfers them to increase by level over the current static ones, though personally I don't mind Some (as in not all) to increase population.

5) Bigger scaling
Everything could be bigger, but it works as it is now...

6) Military Outposts
Inspired by the H5 buildings of the same name, these are adventure map dvellings that allows you to recruit a number of units alined with one specific faction that isn't available in the town itself, like phoenix and unicorn for Sylvan. The idea is that they have one creature from each tier.
