They should add relics like in MMX, that level up a few times. Not like in H6, where it took forever, but in a way that you could unlock its true potential during one map. They could also have campaignspecific relics that gain new stats or abilities after certain campaign events. Also pieces that have "boosts" by them self, but also can be combined into one when you gather them all. Becoming more powerful. Just a thought.
no thanks this is why people hate the idea in heroes 6 ubi will onlt mess it up
It sounds like stupid dynasty weapons
That sounds like cool idea, make player work to make most of some artifacts. Just much lower exp requirements than dynasty weapons I hope.
My problem with the "dynasty-weapons":
1) You need always an internet-connection
2) Arms do not always fit to your faction (like the "arachne" worn by haven-heroes)
But the idea to earn experience-points for artifacts and to win some new features for it, is quite good!!!
They don't have to fit the faction, really. Yes, for every faction there are Might and/or Magic weapons that can be associated with it, and usually I give something that belongs to, say, an Inferno hero. However, different situations may call for different solutions, so using something like the Assassin's Blade or Sword of Whistlebone when playing as a Haven Might hero is perfectly possible. Especially the Whistlebone is a good one for it decreases enemy Ini by 10.
I know you're right... But... You don't find it strange, when an haven heroe (which advocates for light) uses a very dark artifact associated with dark magic and the contrarily faction??? I find that strange...
Im not talking about "dynasty weapons", i suggested something more in line with MMX. There relics of all types could level up, weapons, armours, helmets, rings you name it. And i liked that. It had nothing to do with internet connection. The exp requirements should be much lower so an relic could be fully "upgraded" in one scenario.
One thing I thought was pretty cool in H6 was the addition of weapons which leveled up alongside the player. They don't have to come back as "Dynasty weapons" per se, but it would be cool to see a similar mechanic incorporated somehow.
Yes! I'd liked it too.
It is a cool mechanic but hard to balance. If they aren't good enough, no one will want to level them. If they are too good, its all anyone will use. But they have already said that they will not be doing that in H7. They were not happy with the results it cause in H6 and I think most of us agree.
@Travis: Ok, I liked the idea of it. But I wasn't able to handle it. It could have been a second chance. ;-)
I want Staff of the Lyre ( or Dragon Heart) and Arcane Bracelets.
Its the best!
These artefacts are quite interesting, but apparently they all boost your hero's stats. Assassin's Blade back as something normal, a downgraded DW from H6. Sad to see it in this role, but okay. Also, its bonus is a bit mediocre considering its nature. Maybe add something like '-x % health for enemy creatures', since that blade is poisoned. This kind of effect should apply positively as well: artefacts that give extra health. And what about relics that grant Might Power, but decrease Defense?
For instance. Or things that increase Magic Defense at the cost of some Magic Power. Which would be like the pieces of the Titan's Thunder in H3, they had the same effect. As mentioned below, artefacts that reduce enemy stats would be helpful too, along with those that grant resources. The Crystal Circlet for instance would serve that purpose quite well. So, good job so far, but it shouldn't end here. Add some diversity to them, and we'll have a nice artefact pool. I'm curious about the sets!
And, of course, their bonuses. Now that the artefact topic is discussed, I also wonder about the four artefacts that come as a pre-order bonus. Do you get some kind of DW-like inventory that you can access in-game, equipping the artefact when you start a map? I suppose it'll work like this.
One more thing: artefacts granting +x combat movement, or -x for your enemy, and things like that. Or a small stat boost + extra damage, whatever. Artefacts can be used to boost or reduce a lot of things in a lot of ways. Spell-granting ones are a good example of that, so I'd like to see this diversity increase.
I don´t see anything interesting :/
Will books of magic schools granting all spells of the given magic schools return ? Will there be artifacts granting resistance to a magic type, or negating the resistance on enemy units ? Will there be artifacts granting a big gonus to one stat, but decreasing another ? What about artifacts giving ceartain skills/perks (pathfinding) ? And will sets have real bonuses for completion ? Cause the ones in H6 were pretty boring.
You showed only pictures...
these are not all artifacts...
I know. I hope these are all the boring ones and the others will be more interesting.
Mostly agree with the above. Artefacts can be used for a wide range of things, it would be good to see as much as possible of that :).
On Monday the game will be oficially in beta. I wonder how many beta testers UBI has hired? It would be such a farse if they just relied on random players who pre-ordered the game - and may or may not contribute at all.
I don't think that presellers are "random players".
Presellers are first in line hardcore fans. So I'm perfectly OK with this.
(Sorry for double-post.)
Based on the start of heroes 6, shit they Tests. All players do not care, above all is money.
However, this happens to many companies.Business.
They are random because nobody has chosen them. It can be literally anyone. Also, it doesn't mean that hardcore fans are obliged to comply with beta tests. If they don't like it, they can give up and quit any time; whatever the reason etc.
It is good hypothesis for beta test but I would not call it a beta test, because first it is not beta version with such limitation of content and second, it's more important, they have not prepared any infrastructure:
-testers are unknown and their aptitude are unknown too.
-there isn't any communications between "testers" and devs. If it is assumed that they will use this site to communicate each other that is a big fail.
-how they are going to test the context which was not added to beta..
Have to ally with the ones who are concerned about the testing and more precisely beta testing of the game. Exactly the randomness and lack of communication between the testers and developers is a big problem. This isn't testing, this is milking extra money out of people. And from what I've understood the beta version isn't even a beta, just some random build of the game files.
Such lack of organisation and rationale will create quick shit.
A shame to see there's again Dwarves' artefacts and no the Dwarf faction... ;'(
soon... Dwarves and Demons coming next
Our time will come, our time will come ...
Only if the game will be successful
It looks like copy paste from previous games. I loved the really creative artifacts of the past :(
when you give people good stuff, in example creative artifacts from h4, and then years later you give them things even a 5 yrs old could have come up with, don't be surprised some aren't satisfied lol
but everything seems to be in line so far, boring skill system, boring skills and spells, so good artifacts would have felt out of place I guess
"never satisfied" is a bit of a stretch. I was satisfied with Stronghold. But then they go and leave it out of beta for some reason. So SopranoPorpoise, unless you're going to defend the artefacts he's unhappy with, what the hell is the point of your post?
Khan is right. Some points are good, but that how they are.
Besides, I don't want to play a bad game, which you obviously want to.
"Arcane Bracelets" ... wow!!!! I want it!
Ubi? Pls make the implosion animation like in heroes 5!!!! IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!! And heroes 6 was so ... i dont know ... pfiuuu ...
i agree! H5 had some awesome spell animations! Implosion was one of my faves. In H6 its just this pitiful, tiny purple bubble, then pooof its gone.
The spells in heroes 5 looks soooo powerfull!!!! And in heroes 6 ...
I hope u fix this ubisoft ;)
Totally agree!! Would love to this spell in action :)
I see Implosion. That means Ubi's holding out on spells in its previous articles or it's for school that hasn't been released yet...open the whole spell book and spill the beans please!
" Implosion " - Prime magic \ H 6 \ . Causing great damage, cannot be cured
by 25 May show all
I wish they would look much better as rare objects.
Why Assassin's Blade is a minor one?
"The Assassin’s Blade is among the most precious gifts offered by the Faceless. They sacrificed two amongst themselves to bind their essence into the blade and give birth to this sword."
The two souls form the power of the sword: a blade for learning and a blade for killing. Master of Forbidden Lore, the Faceless gave birth to a veritable living sword that keeps a memory of each combat, each victim and each deathly exchange of steel. The nature of the sword itself convinced Thuidana to loan the sword regularly to her assassins so that they might enrich its knowledge constantly.
The best amongst them passed the sword between them, year after year, in order to increase its knowledge and transform it into a superior artifact.
Why with such history is it weak minor artifact now? O_O
I just hope will not castrate the other dynasty weapon ether...
It became a Dynasty Weapon of choice for me. The poison was devastating.
артефакты, это конечно хорошо, но лично мне куда интереснее, что там с эльфами
а то я как-то волнуюсь за их судьбу
эльфы как обычно предаются разврату
Лени и годости.
интрижкам и кайфу
Can the Assassin's Blade have a chance to inflict poison on enemy troops at the start of combat? Pretty please?
cant see why we are back again with "so-little-explanation-no-video-no-clue" type of articles. please post vieoes or something better then what we got now, in every article we are left in dark with various questions. what is this familiy thing? how initiative works? do we have any gamplay changer artifacts?
btw, to me, stat boosting artifacts are effective but not providing additional fun when they really can. arcane braclets, dimplomats coat.. those are gameplay changer, we need more of those
You can watch a live video tomorrow :)
ah thanks for reminding me that, i forgot that.
Still, they could've done that for more important articles, say skill wheel.
I don't think they are going to explain details of gameplay tomorrow. But It was good idea to show us the game play video with explanations. Why was? Next week you can begin to create the gameplay video yourself. In any case, it is nice idea to provide us new features about different sides of the game which will appear till release.
