This graphic have more fabulous atmosphere the HVII washed maps
Yup, looks more magical.
What should be the Heroes!
FABULOUS!FABULOUS! CHARMING!! COLORFUL! BEAUTY!!!
WITH VERY SMART AI
Why it is so hard for UBI to realize it!
IS it hard for UBI to develop it?
you are wrong, the " heroes" have to be such
Your game looks like washed dish, nothing more. Game made only for score, without any imagination! Rushing and looking only for money LOLOLOLO

Its not enough only to throw maps buildings here and there without any reference with environment around, coz it silly and ugly. but UBILimbic are too lazy to make cozy atmosphere. I dnot know about campaign maps, but map that Im playing is absolutely shit and its not random
And ofcs #BringNivalBack
OMG O_O this Heroes of my dreams T_T
Same here to you +++++++++++++++++++, also to GalaadleHaut, S_MUR, Fake_taxi, and other smart fans, especialy to all form E*vwan Appreciation Party
Lazy or incompetent more likely IMO
I thing both :D
That's how a Heroes game should be.
should look like*, mechanics has to follow then.
Another image to make us depressed showing how H7 could have been but will never be.
Sussugamon ++++++++++++++++ to you
I'm upset (
Yea, because Heroes for me is a tale a magic journey, where you will dive, playing with friends, forgetting about every days troubles and worries................................ thats it!
persons who dare to head HEROES developing, MUST be devoted, passionated, with infinite imagination, skilled, wise, to know what they have to do to satisfied our expectations and requests.
But on first place responsible! Responsible to us
We dont have to begged them as we are miserable wretches.
They also need not to be n00bs.
Like Main spider :D
This concept art looks like it was taken straight from illustrated book with fairytales. Wonderful! I wish Nival had stayed to create Heroes VI...
We all wish Pawek, I mean, why on earth would you want to end working with a team which got the experience after both expansions, start from scratch, fulfill Erwin's fantasies with h6 and bankrupting BH in the process, doing the same again with h7 ...
I haven't found any reliable source on the Nival-Ubi breakup, but Acid Dragon pointed out in 2009 communication issues between dev team and publisher. Another person has posted that Ubisoft stopped their cooperation with Nival because of different visions of future gameplay! Was that a first step in Erwanization of the brand...? We may never know.
"Another person has posted that Ubisoft stopped their cooperation with Nival because of different visions of future gameplay!"
I was sure I read that somewhere but couldn't find the source anymore! Thanks for pointing it out. H6 and H7 are both lead by Erwin so it's possible. Also I heard after h6 Erwin was almost fired but his replacement was apparently a retard so they put him back.
This picture makes me so sad there's no way Nival could make Heroes again :< For as long as Ubi's in charge anyway...
I'm still hoping Nival could make something of their own one day... Like H5 but not M&M, no ubi, no ashan, no retarded lore, if the franchise is truly lost to the spider-fetishists...
There's still a way. Nival has grown a lot - nowadays it has departments in Kiev, Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk, Luxemburg and on Florida, so they'llvsure be able to create their own project and new Heroes game simultaneously! Since they were sacked by Erwan then maybe replacing him someone clever enough would make them more eager to coopwrate with Ubisoft once again...
And once again it comes down to
Well, unless Erwan changes his mindset and lets GAME DESIGNERS design the game instead of him but I consider such an U-turn out of the realm of possible events.
I personally don't have more trust in Xavier Penin and Marzhin, not after the twitch streams.
Did you know that Nival wanted to get rid of towns screens (not only townscreens) in general? The towns were planned to be operated from adventure maps /at least the celestialheavens website says it
Since a few people have brought it up now, thought I'd add my opinion on what a true heroes game contains:
I guess if we use what the Heroes games of NWC's era have in common this would include:
- Fantasy genre (with inclusion of the unknown)
- The player controls characters known as heroes
- These heroes lead creatures into battle
- The creatures are based on mythology
- Creatures are split into different levels of power. They are either ranged, melee or spell casters.
- The hero can cast spells.
- When the hero is successful, he/she gains experience. With experience comes an increase in levels. With an increase in levels comes an increase in Attack, Defense, Spell Power or Knowledge.
- There are several factions that do not necessarily have a theme. Some factions are loosely based on historical peoples.
- Story involves fighting for land, power and the throne of a kingdom.
- Victory conditions vary.
There's a few more I could add if I don't include H1. But I don't feel it's right to leave it out.
Ye these are good elements Khan, I want to add it needs lots of artifacts, lots of spells, lots of units, lots of adventure map objects, lots of skills, a feeling each game is unique and every map is an adventure, and as I said a bit down, to me the perfect "best of" we could have is homm3 x homm5 hybrid with homm4 spell system and homm2 atmosphere. We need solid content in the first place, then we can mod, to improve, not to fix up.
Yeah, actually you are missing quite a few things. Anyone to enlighten you? :)
Well, most of the missing things have been mentioned on this blog somewhere, SO...
Or somewhere on this blog, whatever.
In this blog, in many forums, by many people, repeatedly time and again over the years.
Yeah, UBI ignorance has no limits, SO...
Good/fantastical music, great storyline, being the character that is mentioned in the story (In heroes 3, Catherine lands in Erathia and yet we start as Christian), slaying dragons, mysterious places (as opposed to knowing everything about the entire world in H3).
You forgot skill randomness.
It is the one core thing that every Heroes game has had. Until now! And excluding Heroes 6..
"lots of artifacts, lots of spells, lots of units, lots of adventure map objects"
Yeah definitely forgot those.
"You forgot skill randomness"
No I didn't. As I said, there are a few things I could add if I didn't include H1. H1 did not have skills, so your statement about every heroes game having it prior to H6 is incorrect.
Not so many played/remember H1. :P
Well my bad for the Heroes 1.. I haven't played it much. I bought it while ago from gog.com...
But still I wonder...
WHY in this "Heroes" game there is no skill randomness??
Is not for nothing either Heroes 2 blew our minds.
One could argue that it developed into the game we love in H2 and that H1 was a bit of an experiment with a new version of King's Bounty.
@ Mer , Welcome, 30+ ! \ Congratulations! /
@ Khan , you can simply say that it is - the usual game and everyone expected more
"One could argue that it developed into the game we love in H2 and that H1 was a bit of an experiment with a new version of King's Bounty."
This is very well said actually.
It's a troll with multiple accounts, @Elamivuoul - someone is apparently very bored.
I want to say that King's Bounty copy unfortunate, because the game has the charm of a private
Game Kings Bounty charming, has a charm
@ mErEnEfErEee , congratulation on your level 30! :)
Truely King's Bounty has potential. It reminds Heroes games. But has it's own creatures, lore/story, heroes, tactics and basically whole game is very different compared to Heroes games.. But still it is good game.
I have been thinking of buying King's Bounty editions from Steam. :)
Problem with people wanting mythology creatures is that they are often not actually accurate mythological descriptions. When lets say, Cerberus gets two heads, conservative fans complain, yet completely disregard the rest of the actual Cerberus description. Even mythological, angels aren't truly humanoids with wings in their real forms.
I prefer original creature, whether it be mythological with an artists' spin on it, or a brand new creature altogether.
Elamivuoul, buy them... I have all the King's Bounty and they are really VERY fun! Graphics far superior to that Heroes 7... The animations of the creatures fighting spend a feeling of really heavy damage... Best of all, you do not need a magnifying glass to see the details of the game, because it's all big and close, not on a camera view in the stratosphere
At this point I think that "best of heroes" would include engine flexible enough to actually mimic any predecessor mechanics (H1-H7) + it would bring some innovations on its own. Same goes to game lore. Player would be able to choose both lore and mechanics in map settings. That alone would give tremendour replayability. And I agree with Galaad - more of everything is a good start.
Game certianly could use more depth ... 10-15 creature tiers, up to 100 hero level, up to 100 town level. More resource tiers - now there are 3, adding 1-2 levels would be nice. Dont know about others but single player was dominant game mode I used to play. This is solo or "party" activity game, not multiplayer game. Epic large single scenario maps is core feature.
Completely agree. King's Bounty: The Legend and the games that followed are an excellent series. It's amazing what they've been able to do with that game. The heroes series owes a lot to King's Bounty for its origin, though I feel that Heroes can still learn from King's Bounty's new series. The only draw back is that it doesn't have the replay value Heroes does.
You are aware that such a huge amount of assets would be improbably expensive? Strategy games are quite popular, but not THAT popular to rationalize a budget for a game with such huge creature and building pools. Besides, I'm not sure if refreshing the gameplay with adding more units would be the best idea.
I would add from all have been said:
Music from Paul Romero and Rob King
The feeling "one more turn". So that, the game needs to be fast among other things.
@ Pawek1308 : I wouldnt say that there are that many. You only need to make unicorn once and you can use it in all lores, same applies to most other units. To make engine flexible that is only matter of proper design. Yes it might be little more work but not as much more as you probably think. Anyway I dont think this is matter of budget, present homm lead is totaly incompetent and should have been fired long ago.
By the way... How Steam games generally works in Windows 10?
There was no mention on it at system requirement section...
Yes those games has their unique strategy, environment and gameplay.
I have played The Legend at my cousin for hours. It is really catching game. :)
WE TRIED TO WARN YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PIECE OF CRAP WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN, ASK FOR REFUND VIA STEAM
Gala, all have been waiting for "heroes" , so loved "heroes", so much wanted to play "heroes" ,,,,, ((
when really want, the mind refuses to work
And so, thanks to the old "heroes", the company Ubisoft is making money.
"ASK FOR REFUND VIA STEAM"
Will they give refund?
a dead end (
love people to "heroes", and the ratio of Ubisoft to "heroes" = dead end
Steam does give refunds, but only if you haven't played the game for more than x hours and owned it for more than a week or two... so people who pre-ordered are screwed I think
"so people who pre-ordered are screwed I think"
I thought so. :)
Fortunately game works fine. But still I haven't downloaded the patch..
JeremiahEmo told you so. Next time, listen to JEmo. He's also right about the feminists being piece of entitled c*n** by the way.
What do you know? You haven't even played it.
I see no reason why to ask for refund. Everything is exactly how we have expected.
All important things were known through betas and this site.
And if you want to ask for refund only because of too slow AI and bugs, you should want to get your money back for all the games you have ever bought, because they had similar problems after their release.
Even LightAvatarX is outraged, serioulsy Ubilimb, you suck royally.
Yeah I mean just wow,I even wrote poems for those assholes adn those students just fucked the game up.
I see dear necromancer what you wanted all that time to say.And I feel and asshole.
well you bought their false advertising is all.
me too upset Academy, magic uninteresting, plain, mission took place on 1 Frostbolt and calling elementals. ((((
I love magic, but here it was boring. Many spells - not needed.
Oh french necromancer, you are not a prisoner of Enroth. You are a cute french.
And they will put h4 scripts into h7, why not into h4, bastards.
well since they ignore wog hota and all that, how can they think of equilibris.
I have a horrible suspicion that heroes 6 magic was fun. About 5 generally keep quiet - there was a little magic, but very useful and interesting.
Hahahaha... you made my day. Night D
It's evident the same people were responsible for the bordom or stupidness of many ideas, design etc. UBI before you start making games, learn how to make them first, lol. A new motto :D
And what is infuriating me most of all, is that this game claims to be done "with and for the fans", WHEN IT IS FREAKING NOT.
My comments and suggestions about the game Ubisoft did not read.
i feel my feedback is ignored, too. :(
"with and for the casuals & n00bs"
And you know because you have never played it... lol
Creating shadow council for a feedback-> then throwing it straight to the trash. Forcing us to use rage by dissmising normal arguments.. Telling us that H7 is going back to the roots and will be the best. Deceiving us all the time....I have no respect left for this.
No more Ubisoft, no more lies!
Calm down, brothers! We are doomed, it is - a dead end. ....... \ Your Mirash - spider _ Advisor to № 2 \
Hundreds of comments have been posted and nothing happens! And we have told them countless times what went wrong!
Even during first beta we said what is incorrect! They had time! They "didn't need to postpone" the release date! Fans are raged!
WHY they won't wake up already??
What is meaning of feedbacks to Ubisoft?
I've just messed around with colour saturation in Heroes VII. Here are the results. This process is so simple, yet it would make the game look way better.Devs, please, increase the saturation. After all, Heroes VII is a FANTASY game!
This game FINALLY seems to be LIVE.
Very good, we need that ;)
An option to set colours' saturation would be sooo great. :)
Fantastic! The colours make everything pop and becomes more immersive for a fantasy game. So much better looking, and more in line with the colours of the townscreens. Perfect!
Now, for Limbic to include this in the next patch. Then start work on making the townscreens 3D, as gorgeous as H5 ones! That would be great!
But that's too colorful for Ashan. Ashan has to be cool, dark, gritty and edgy :P
Jokes aside, that looks much better.
Forget H5 3D townscreens, they are unfortunately too expensive.
And to be honest, I would rather choose many other things Ubi should invest as regards H7.
http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=41833 - here is a poll question in HC regarding saturation levels made by Dark-Whisperer. I think he deserves some kudos, and some votes :)
Ubilimbic learned from the Man of Steel school of "art":
UBISOFT IF YOU WANTED TO MAKE A GREAT GAME AND A BEST OF WHY DID YOU ENGAGE MMH6 TEAM AND KEPT ERWIN IN CHARGE???!!! ARE YOU JUST STUPID?????!!!!
Ubi_Mirash : We know better what you need, lost brothers .....
H6 was good
NO MORE BROKEN PROMISES!
NO MORE LIES!
NO MORE H6 RECYCLED CRAP!
NO MORE ERWIN!
NO MORE USURPERS!
NO MORE UBISOFT!
(Element Eighty is playing on the background) (▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ ̿)
No more, no more.
the fifth act takes violin
Ubisoft? What's that company? The only company I know is Bugsoft.
NO MORE BUGSOFT!
Heroes VI VII is not just about bugs. It's also about a bad design decisions, which bury the titile under the ground.
Magic schools, spells, abilities, skillwheel, specializations - and combinig it into one living organism, in which one thing has a meaningful effect on the other that mean hundreds or thousands of possibilities.
What about Badsoft? Evilsoft? Moneysoft? Usurpersoft?
"What about Badsoft? Evilsoft? Moneysoft? Usurpersoft?"
I think that Bugsoft is better. :)
That's why I put Bugsoft firstly; but there are other names too ^^
yes, i agreed
"Heroes 7 is being made with and for the fans." - Erwan le Breton, 2014
"I still consider H7 a "best-of album" of Heroes, but I agree it's "our" best-of album. I believe every fan would make his own best-of album, each of them different from all the others. And they would all claim to speak for the whole fanbase." - Marzhin, 2015
This phrase is such a huge insult ... they havent even tried to seek for common way, they just did it their way without taking any feedback into consideration. In other words .. "We cant please everyone so we rather please nobody ... we know better - we are the all mighty design team". It was going from "to early to talk about it" into "to late for changes". They fail to deliver quality game then wonder why is market small :/
Now this is really strong competitor to another failure Heroes 6...
I don't know which is worse... Maybe this.. On the other hand... Heroes 6 had too many issues and bugs... I cannot decide which is WORSE...
They are EQUALLY HORRIBLE!!
MY ASS IT IS!!!
I am not bying this game until price go down to 10 euro and Limbic must fix all bugs, balance ,crashes . What a joke !!!! thank you for 20th universary . JOKE . I hope you can fix this game this year . Ubi , please reorganize your company or sell this trademark Heroes of might and magic to someone else.
That is why I keep playing TRUE Heroes of Might and Magic games!
Such as Heroes 2 Gold, Heroes 3 and Heroes 5 TotE.
True Heroes games? How do you define what a true Heroes game is?
No surprise you don't have a clue.
How I would define true Heroes game...
Well.. Better than this.
Do you need more explanation?
As much as he annoys me, the question itself is very accurate. There's no such thing as a definition of a "True Heroes Game," at least there's no correct one.
There is no question about this, when you play a true Heroes game, you just know you are. People doubting about this shouldn't be developing/creating one.
I think the core of the franchise relies in an abstract concept I will do my best to define: its spirit. As long as this gets respected, to me you can change almost everything.
Let’s try to define the spirit: as I see it things can basically be narrowed in three major parts, each of crucial importance for the success of the formula: mechanics, visuals, setting.
Mechanics are how the game will play, independently of all the rest, and therefore the most restrictive area. Each change has to be well-thought, in order to make a successful innovation and not killing what was working in the past. Again, Nival with Heroes V came up with a more advanced skill system, proposing abilities dependent on skills on top of skills at level up therefore offering a richer hero development, and racials specials to be faction affiliated.
While the ultimates were broken, the whole design was rather great and no one shouted for blasphemy, but rather tried to find solutions in order to fix and improve the system further. This is example of good innovation, expanded the system without breaking it, and it proved to be successful.
Which ingredients are to remain, which can be extended, which can be modified?
We all agree we have a town, where we can recruit troops and heroes to develop. From there we need to know how the town will develop, namely, building order, gold and resource cost, prerequisites, how the troops will play and what are their respective stats and abilities, and the impact a hero will have on the army, depending on how he developed.
About the development of the hero, IMO the most critical mistake of Heroes VI –and to some extent, VII- is the negligence of the random element. While some players complained about “not getting the skill they want”, they also didn’t bother to understand how the system works, hence how to have it go to your advantage, and most importantly, how to adapt in a situation where everything didn’t go as planned.
As it happens in war, not all goes according to the plan all the time, and the brilliant strategist is the one who will find his way among unasked for constraints, and let’s face it, there is no bigger thrill to win when all seemed to be lost.
True, there are in all iterations some skills considered useless – although still useful in specific situations, also depending on how a map is designed- but then, what is there to fix, a system which made its proof in terms of addictiveness and intelligence, or some skills which could have been better thought-out/designed? I think the latter.
Make better skills, better spells, and I don’t see how it can’t benefit the core system of hero development. Same goes with creatures, why do we have to get straight out replicates abilities between units, especially when the approach seemed itself wanting to be closer to Heroes III, with lesser abilities, but in Heroes III, these abilities were awesome, and unique, for the most part. Gorgon’s Death stare or Dread Knight Deadly strike just made these units stand out from the rest.
All this is a small part of the how the gameplay feels and why we love it.
With wog came an additional resource, Mithril, additional buildings, additional artifacts, additional creatures, expanding even more the possibilities of the game, even better, providing an in-game menu where all scripts are available to enable or disable depending on the game you want to play. This should be the future of the series, as it allows taste to decide as well.
Some people keep criticizing fans for worrying about cosmetics, behind the argument that, what is the point of a game benefiting of gorgeous graphics if the game mechanics are not interesting/challenging/breathtaking. While it is a totally valid point, the visuals also have a fair share of importance since they define the atmosphere, the world the player will dive in, and therefore will have a strong impact on its immersion.
This is why we want beautiful townscreens, environment, well-designed creatures etc. The problem Ubi games brought with these, as I already said in the discussion thread a while back, is that they redefined the atmosphere of the brand and the world we are being dove into is too far apart from the one we loved in Heroes IV, Heroes III, and of course the unbeatable Heroes II, who for many had the most brilliant magic in terms of immersion.
Some people might not care, others radically prefer visuals from Ashan, but it doesn’t change the fact the visual identity of the series has been drastically altered and clashes of tastes inevitably happens between fans from what is already two different worlds.
Nevertheless, even with what I see as a lost of identity, this new one being under-budgeted for what IMO these series are worth, it doesn’t make up for. But going back to the original point, changing the immersion is changing to some extent the spirit.
You may be surprised, but I would be the first one to be glad with all new factions, all new creatures, as long as I can feel the game is a Heroes one, meaning I can get a strong similarity with its predecessors, namely the original from the creator JVC with NWC. Just look back at H5 Sylvan concept from NWC, with units such as Catelf, Lionman, or even Firewolf and Sphinx. Who said we didn't want new units?
I think the setting is highly undervalued by most people, as it is mainly texts few bother to read or even get interested in. It is no less than the very foundation of all, and current setting totally disrespects what once was, by doing things such as introducing Dark Elves into the Dungeon, transforming what once was a magical, nature-oriented town into LotR,
having the lore applying a ruthless diktat over the game etc, we all know the record by heart by now, and probably I should keep the details for a more fitting thread, as I am the last one now wanting to fire up again the lore wars, as almost all arguments from both sides are now heavily overused.
Bottom line is, I am firmly convinced we have a huge freedom in being very innovative with this awesome series, as long as we know how to respect it, and not turn it into another one, maybe good but still another and different game which wouldn’t have much left to do with the brand aside from the name and a few other things (shudders while still thinking of VI).
When I look at how Heroes I evolved into II, how II evolved into III, how the mechanics of III evolved into V, I do trust there is a way to have a wonderful Heroes game worthy of the title, greater than any other one, even capable of dethroning III, released some day, and I will keep that hope even in the darkest of times.
Now I know because of the troll you are you are going to twist all around and say garbage, but nobody is taking you seriously anyway, and shouldn't, rightfully so.
If H7 wanted to be a true "best-of", it should have been a hybrid between homm3 x homm5 with homm4 spell system and homm2 atmosphere.
So this is what I surmised from your essay about what true heroes games are:
- Randomness (fair enough)
- Improved skill system on previous iteration (I don't feel H3 improved the skill system from H2 but rather added more skills)
- Unique creature abilities (I prefer a small number of unique creature abilities, but others complain that they want more creature abilities)
- all scripts are available to enable or disable depending on the game you want to play (that's never been a part of any heroes game - don't see how you can justify this as being a part of a true heroes game)
- beautiful townscreens, environment, well-designed creatures (There have been plenty of poor designs in the first 5 heroes games)
- lore doesn't rule over the game (yeah I guess)
Optional scripts is just so that more with different tastes can enjoy the game too, the franchise is old and has a huge fan base, if you want to satisfy a larger audience, better let them tweak what they want, this is more of a business argument than a "spirit" one.
Anyway I don't claim what I say here is all true or complete, just to show unlike you I don't speak out of my arse.
"I don't feel H3 improved the skill system from H2 but rather added more skills"
-Oh, the skills improved!
"There have been plenty of poor designs in the first 5 heroes games"
-Plenty of poor... Well some of them are not so good looking.. But hey! You know what! It was YEARS AGO!! They didn't have thecnology to do better creatures/monsters!
NOW they have good machines and computers to do awesome games!
BUT INSTEAD WE GOT poor designed game!
It is true Heroes 3 has some crappy skills, this one of the few flaws of this game. I still take it over recent Ubi atrocities any day.
You have really good point of views there in those comments!
Therefore it is useless for me to define Heroes games. :)
In short, we got a small, ordinary, modest strategy, expectations of the fans did not materialize.
"In short, we got a small, ordinary, modest strategy, expectations of the fans did not materialize."
In a nut shell. :)
* In a nutshell
I didn't know "nutshell" was compound word! :D
Right now AoW is more like Heroes than Ubi's MMH lol
If you want a real Heroes game go back to H1-5 and try H3's HotA and H5.5 mods if you haven't done that already :3
And H4 with Equilibris, if you'd like some different experience from those 2 games. And Heroes 2, because it was simply that good.
Ah yes, forgot about Equilibris :3 thanks for bringing it up Sussu
Yup, H4 needs some love. ^^
Poor underdeveloped, unloved H4 :<
Hehehe I wonder if H6+H7 could make people who disliked H4 at first appreciate it more
H4 was when they started launching the game with bugs and problems with balancing, budget running low as well, thing being hushed up as 3DO bankrupted.
Still, H5 had problems when launching, H6 too, H7 too and hushed. They all have something in common: problems. ^^ Which should have been addressed, but, somehow, someone knew better and kept screwing them up.
Sadly I don't think releasing unpolished, buggy games could go away that easily.. Back in the 90's when not everyone had internet it wasn't possible to just make day one patch, so the games were tested throughly to make sure they're ready...
There is a huge difference between "unpolished" and "so broken it's unplayable" though xD former I can accept, the latter is just fault of greedy publishers and people pre-ordering mindlessly
Yes, it's a matter of changing culture, actually, similar to that of people voting on politicians. If you don't pay attention on what you are voting for, you get crappy results. But one thing is sure: since Ubi took hold of the franchise, it's being released in ever worst situation each time.
They seem to do that to all their games, though I'm not sure if it's any consolation...
Big publishers with their unrealistic release schedules must be such a pain for the devs
36% Positive feedback in Steam on this game.. And Heroes 6 Shades of Darkness was neutral (about 66% positive)..
How come Ubisoft keeps doing these crappy games?
Shouldn't they like wake up?
(Heroes V TotE has 91% positive feedback!)
"If you want a real Heroes game go back to H1-5 and try H3's HotA and H5.5 mods"
H3's HotA and H5.5 mods are NOT real Heroes games. They're fan made.
Are they fan made addons? Yes
Are they real Heroes games? Yes.
Now get out of here, low level green creature.
That's the thing, these fan made addons did not change the essence of the games, unlike h6 and h7. There is no use arguing with you, "M. anti-heroes 3" lol
"That's the thing, these fan made addons did not change the essence of the games"
Hang on a minute. Didn't H3's mods allow heroes to place creatures on the map, and creatures had the ability to level just like heroes? That's a direct change to the mechanics of the game! Your definition of essence is rather loose.
You're missing everything up. WoG is not HotA.
You're mixing* eveything up.
This game has NO skill randomness AT ALL!!!
Which I really like about these games! NOT this skillwheel-mess-pizza!
This game doesn't feel like heroes game!
This is Ubi might and magic game.

"I said to the team, 'it's better for you if you start from scratch, create your own universe, be in control, you know, otherwise you may disappoint expectation, make mistakes, they will flame you, et cetera'." – Erwin, 2015
"Being creative director means a lot of things. It means you're totally related to everything that's part of the content and experience of the games, so it's obviously art, and music, and audio, and game design, and story, the lore of the universe." – Erwin, 2015
"When it comes to “we don’t like your world because the spiders and the undead for us make no sense”, our only answer is to say for us it makes a lot of sense and we just like it and our team is behind it and that’s the way it is." – Erwin 2015
"I recommended to change the universe, so very fast, people in the team, instead of looking for writers or game designers who were coming from New World Computing and 3DO [...] really we made no real effort to contact those guys, to identify those guys, to contact them and try to find something interesting for them to come and work for us." – Erwin, 2015
"The community was saying Heroes 6 was the worst game in the series ever. All the changes that I mentioned […] they said it wasn’t heroes." – Erwin, 2015
"Heroes VI in this perspective was very innovative but it was hard to implement everything in the game and in the end all of us are disappointed with the final product compared to our original vision. It was a question of time, money, and ambition. It was not the Heroes of our dreams." – Erwin, 2015
“For some people in the team, including me sometimes, it’s frustrating to always go with the conservative portion of our audience.” – Erwin, 2015
“We tried to bring freshness by proposing three different line ups - one very conservative, one very innovative, and one kind of mixed. Not surprisingly, the conservative line up won - you propose to the fans what they want and what they want is what they’ve played before with more beautiful visuals.” – Erwin, 2015
“The team that was working with me [on Heroes VI] went on to form Amplitude and redefined 4x games with Endless Space and Endless Legends. This was the kind of thing we did. We took established genres and pushed them to the 21st century. That was our mandate, our common vision." – Erwin, 2015
“We want to do a good game but don’t have a vision for how Heroes should be.” – Erwin, 2015

THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED US!!!
You cannot say that you didn't see our comments posted to this website! There were tons of them! And lot of them told same thing in EXACTLY SAME WORDS!!
The problem is they do what they want, not what the long time fans want. It is so wrong because it will not bring new more fans at all and will put off the old ones at the same time. OK, maybe graphics can attract some new, younger fans, but not gameplay for sure.
And I think that these spiders on Necromancer line-up is COPIED from King's Bounty!
As if I remember correctly the spiders in that game were undead monsters!
(at least some of them)
Who cares who the man "a mysterious hat" ? ,,,,
,,,He wrote me quote someone who is responsible for the "heroes"
