Don´t forget to rework the skillwheel ;)
Too many amateurs trying to look like they know what they are doing
Yep, more important matter. ;-)
That should be their top priority.
How to get upvotes: Complain about the skillwheel.
Lol indeed. Bu I think nobody is doing that just because of upvotes, we only want a better game :)
Just move on and dont even give a shit about the thousands of comments concerning the wheel of mistakes... Seriously why do you involve the community if you´re not able to give one single feedback, new marketing strategy?
Do you remember how much spam did it take before random skills were announced?
I am quite sure they are aware of that feedback, but we wont see any response for several weeks more.
But of course that does not mean we should stop reminding devs about skillwheel:)
Hall of heroes - NO
Tavern - YES
Little change for you,big change for us!
I'd say name-wise, Necro Magic classes are higher priority
It's not just a change of names, a tavern and a Hall of heroes function completely differently.
Taven >>> Hall of heroes
Yeah, that was something I ignored before.
A "Hall of Heroes"... What kind of person would frequent a "Hall of Heroes"?
Whereas, the Tavern...my kind of people. You pick up the best rumors there.
Hall of heroes sounds like a bar filled with dangerous drunken idiots XD
Where tavern sounds like professional/ skilled adventurers ready for hiding
sorry for typo
Idol of Fertility: - make it random to decrease micro-management
Behemoth Rift - it's way too small, make it much bigger or give them a proper cave
Centaur Outpost - move it down, it makes no sense for Centaurs to climb up the cliff
Wyver Nest - move it up- Wyvers should have a next at the top or have it's own cave
*next = nest
it's = its
sry for typos
Good to see I am not alone who noticed that the Centaurs building makes no sense :D
That's someone's head working! It's a shame a magic guild is twice or thrice the size of a Behemoth Rift
I agree with all but the idol. I would rather have you choose building it boosts automatically until you change it to something else. Would allow you to have focus on certain unit allowing more strategies available. Don't like the micromanagement though if you had to do it manually every week.
Also something in the town to allow access to upper levels like ropes or rope ladders for example. It seems there is pretty insane climbing going on in the town ATM.
My thoughts exactly!
Especially Centaurs would not build their Outpost high up, where they are trapped - that even collides with theirs abilities.
It's always the little things (and unfortunately sometimes also the big ones) that don't work out...
Yeah, fliers should get higher ground (Harpy and Wyvern). Centaurs should stay on the ground)
The Behemoth lair should be a cave, and a big one also
Here Sir, have my upvote
Agreed on everything except Centaurs.
Centaurs are not half-horses now, but half-antilopes instead. Imagine they used...mountain antilopes, which feel fine on cliffs.
How do Centaurs get to their outpost? Do they fly?
That being said it definitely looks better than the other townscreens, though that's not much of an achievement... It still looks like a background picture with buildings more or less randomly pasted into it, but at least is quite nice to look at
PS. The skill system is still bad
There's a bridge next to the outpost.
It looks like made of bones so it can't be very stable and horses don't like this kind of structures :D
Besides this leads to another question: how does anyone get up to this bridge, capitol or anything? Through the Behemoth Rift? Interesting way to plan a town...
My thoughts exactly. The first thing I noticed was the Centaur outpost. If I where a centaur, Centaurs home should be on the ground
That's exactly what I think when I look at this TS:D
Its just the best townscreen until now!
I agree, it's the best one so far. That being said, it could still be much better and more logical.
I'm just happy to see the developers making so many things better than heroes 6!
Yes it is. I wish the Sylvan and dungeon would get TS as beautiful as on the artworks.
I don't understand how you can be satisfied with this mess of a townscreen. Not a single of the buildings are identifiable based on their look alone. Before this post, people guessed that the Basilisk dwelling would be for Behemoths, while others pointed out it was too small to fit a Behemoth ... and then look what they actually got. lol There's not a single dwelling that stands out from the background apart from the grail building and the mage guild (lol?) ... that's just poor work!
The Thieve's Guild is bigger than the Behemoth Rift, that can't be right. Scales are a bit off here, that much is certain. It doesn't seem to be easy moving around that town, with things situated on rocks like that. At least the wall covers the entire front section, but you can clearly see open-access to the back of the town, making that wall a bit silly. Those cactuses are awesome, no doubt. Wish we could have some Dynastry traits from H6..."Castle Conqueror" would be much needed here.
And, of course, houses. Tents. Shacks. Huts. Iglo's, I don't know. Normal dwellings in a town, they are all lacking this at the moment. Look back at H5, or H3, it was much better done there, and by upgrading the Town Hall it would add more of this. I think there should be some of these little, yet not unimportant and logic details for in a town. It is a town screen, not an Outpost Screen or whatever :).
Yes, the champion buildings should be definitely bigger. And more creative. Behemoth rift could be some kind of big cave in the upper mountains, and pillar of rage could also be a cave like building with a torches here and there.
You just have to wonder, why they choose this kind of path..
How the hell does anything without wings even get to the Thieve's Guild? Do they all learn from Harpies and craft themselves some wings like Icarus and his father Daedalus? This screen surely has the orcish, Strongholdish-look, but now that I think about the theme I'd rather have the more powerful one from H6. Seeing the town, the names, some power wouldn't hurt at all. This is Stronghold, remember?
@Samuli: Pillar of rage?
They only have to put this council in that townscreen.
I like it!
Nice, but the Behemoth Rift should be a bit .... LARGER!
Looks nice, but the layout is a little illogical.
Centaurs are up high, but no-one thinks of a centaur as being an agile climber
Basilisk N0-mans land is right in the middle of town? Anything so dangerous it's home is described as a "no-mans land" should be far away from everyone else
Wyverns nest on the ground?
Gnolls get a big fancy tent, but behemoths and cyclops get a little dinky dwelling?
He is right, listen to him, devs.
After a day break, time to come back to the series of complains.
Number 4 - too small number of skills per class
Coice of skills in each class would be very narrow - only ten skills will be available to choose. Such a small selection leaves little room for variation within a class, meaning that soon after buying a game all the options would be known and already used.
Way of improving that would be increasing number of skills available to each faction to at least 15. This would give more options.
no objection to most of your suggestions, but the 10 skills is the amount of skills you can learn, I don't know the maximum number of skill pool yet, I think it will around 30 (might + magic + faction only)
Necromancy is faction only or a magic skill? can wizard learn necromancy? because necromancy is different from dark magic
Faction skill is restricted to faction only? or you can still learn them, but you won't get them to GM level?
Still waiting for Ubi to explain their incomplete skill wheel
Faction skills are exclusive to one faction, meaning that for each faction there is one racial skill and it will be available to this faction only, meaning that only Necropolis can get Necromancy, only Stronghold can get Bloodrage, etc.
No....no....I am fighting to the last second until Ubi confirmed it and wrote it in black and white XD
I don't like the look of undead heroes but I want to use necromancy >n<
Please put them to the maximum skill pool >m<
devs alredy confirmed that, just read the sidenote necromancy, it starts:"Heroes of Necropolis"
Heroes of Necropolis command armies of undead creatures, the animated corpses of the enemies they defeated on the battlefield. Although those soldiers are mostly sword fodder, their ranks seem to be growing endlessly.
But only say Heroes of Necropolis got Necromancy as a faction skill, I know that, but it didn't state in anywhere that other faction cant learn it... Ubi stated there are faction restriction on skills, even the chance is 0.1%, I hope Ubi will allow it somehow, more fun
Everyone should fight for more skills and removal of faction restriction >:D
Freedom for small potatoes o/
maybe if your hero get the fractionspecific skill related to the town wher he/she was hired...
if you recruit a haven hero in a necropolis it is possibble
but Yuo have 1to1000001 chance to this gamemechanics
hope dies last,
i remember i played in h3 with an academy hero who had necromancy... undeads+golems+gargoils+titans, wow that was THE army of punishment!
and i fight for a better skillsystem and freedom and flexibility as well
but if we will get 1 fixed fractionskill and 2 fixed classskills and 7 freeofchoice skillslots i will be delighted
I will pray to Homm God XD
You just need to boost your morals, I remember getting item to boost morals and luck.. I enjoy playing with necromancy when ever possible, after playing a extra-large map, I ended up with a good few thousands of undead XD
It is fun... sad to it removed in Homm6, still fighting for it in Homm7+ more skills + more freedom >:D
and yes, they need to explain how many free choice and how to decide which is major and minor skill, which can enter as GM
Ashan of Might and Logic®
Its the best townscreen so far (in MMH7). Some building have weird scaling but the atmosphere and rocks are nice. It seems Stronghold is going to be my favorite. Nice TS (hope for animated and living) great line up and if bloodrage would be made well... Hope for miracle with elves to beat standart that stronghold has set. And even bigger miracle for reworking necro, if not design, the abilities should be improved.
Better than academy's?
What Matoob said.
I was always the Might guy :)
The city is beautiful... But we should not forget the mount! This is still a goat!!!
The perfect comment about this townscreen:
Lol!!!! That's the best comment about this townscreen! It cover everthing! Hope it gets more upvotes!
As far as I see, there is no point in buying this game, its no better than H5. I just hope people wont blindly buy it, before they try the game and see if its any good.
I find it sad that folks come on here and say there is no point to buying this game. I've been a Heroes fan for almost 20 years, and this is the first time that us fans have had the chance to be so involved in the development of the game. We got to choose factions. We forced reworkings of the lich and vampire. We've undoubtedly helped the devs in many ways, and they've been open to our ideas as their budget allows. Heroes III and V were great, but the Heroes VII game engine is great too.
Of course, the skill wheel, overly specific hero classes, and Spideropolous remain problems, and we would all like to see artistic fixes like a smaller dragon of light in the Haven town or a larger behemoth rift in the Stronghold or a more colorful lamasu. But seriously, this is shaping up to be a quality game that corrects the course of the franchise on a not-so-big budget for Ubisoft. If Heroes VII sells well, we could have some great expansions and a higher budget Heroes VIII.
If the system and specializations don't work like in H5, I don't buy.
I can forgive Necro and other things like townscreen etc. but not this.
If if the game is worse than HV, I still find it worth buying - at least it brings some fresh feelings, ideas and impression.
If it is worse that H6...well, that's another story. But it does not seem to be our case.
