While I think a lot of things could actually be improved about H5 skillwheel, I do agree that in the essence, in the way it works, it was something that should be carried over to other games.

Marzhin said that the problem was that H5 skill system wasn't functional until fans created skillwheel to represent game's skill requirements, but this would be easily solved by having H5-like skillwheel simply present in-game.

Well skillwhell is probably the most important thing, i do hope that they wont fuck it up. But that picture of skillwhell looks like fan made h5 skillwhell, I hope that looks will not be the only similar thing.

Excellent job, devs! I think this is the best Stronghold lineup ever, and I love how you incorporated some of the lost favorites from the old Heroes III Fortress (wyvern, basilisk, gnoll). The return of the behemoth is really the icing on the cake. A few of the models still need polishing (basic centaur, both wyverns, and both cyclops), but the Stronghold townscreen is easily the best, and most "realistic" thus far.

What they did there with original fortress units reminds me H4 necro when they due to (probably budget) mixed inferno and necro to same faction which was worst possible thing to do. If you wonder why H4 wasnt all that praised - this was one of the reasons, complete shift of lore (also dungeon was mess in H4). I am not saying that units look bad, they are actually very well done, also TS is sort of best of all, but this game does not seem to be made for older fans. This lore mix is outrage.

Well, except that the world of Heroes III is long gone, and now we have Ashan - for what it is. With the creation of the Naga faction and return of the hydras to Dungeon/Warlock, there's really no chance to have a Heroes III-style Fortress faction. Even the faction name was given away, to the Dwarves. So I am happy to see the wyvern, basilisk, and gnoll find a new home. As with the wolf vs. griffin duchy, the desert vs. island barbarians makes room for different creatures that we'd lose.

gnolls and basilisks are a welcome sight again. but my humble opinion:
- remove helm from gnoll when upgraded, it does not fit them, and it gets in the way with behaviour and movement patterns. heck even a bandana would be better
- Goblins should be fed to basilisks, not be used to ride upon them! The basilisk can fight alone or with an orc/gnoll mounted IMO :)

- A ballista which is operated by a goblin crew
- A catapult which fires suicide goblins (with explosives) instead of rocks.

Too much right in one post. I agree that the concept with goblins (which are the cyclops favourite food) riding mighty basisilsks is just wrong. Place some gnolls on them, or perhaps lizard men ^^.

I have personally nothing against goblin riders but giving lizardman or gnoll on the top would be much better, especially that lizardman. Not goblins just for sake of having them!
Helmet doesnt match gnoll for sure, but im still surprized that its ranged, looks weird. Reminds me H6 goblin too much.
Cyclop with tree would be great, also goblins operating warmachines.
I dont like the frog jump of behemoth and AB attacking with fists insted of claws, how could he pierce armour with fists?

Gnolls are savanah animals, makes more sense to have them in stronghold than swamp. Btw, they have same role as H6 goblins, or they are different? I cant see it from abilities.

Nope! There are also dangerous animals which lifes in the high mountains (snow leopard for example): Why not take a sabre-toothed cat (of course larger than the original for the game)?? That would fit much better!!! (And it is not a big roast) (smile)

Maybe the skillwheel will be better? (More skills are available; particular combinations are possible; the specialization of the hero plays a role... and so on...)... However: I fear that h5 will not be easy to beat: Let us wait and see...

Good job Devs. This line-up is amazing. Incredible work to pick creatures from different old towns in Heroes 3 and put them together in Heroes VII. I just totally fits to Stronghold!

Nice creatures,
Good animations,
I think I even like the townscreen.

Can't wait to see the Heroes and Warfare Units!

Keep up the good work and hope the 2 last factions will be close to Stronghold's quality.

For once I don't have any complaints. This is pretty much perfect.
1) Love the diversity; all kinds of beasts not just multiple variations on the orc.
2) an interesting town screen
3)Sahaar theming is refreshing after playing the Pao Islanders.

I like stronghold, so far. Lineup is not this time just a pack of slightly different orcs...But instead it shows more diversity, involving old swamp faction. And a Behemoth. ..Even that townscreen looks a bit better.
