change the scale of beings, text scale, the scale at all.
change the scale of beings, text scale, the scale at all.
It seems strange, I think, that the saturation must be fixed and static. It would have been super if the users could set saturation, colour balance, etc. through the options panel.
Yeah. I like what you did with your mod. Looks really good.
I repeat 50 times, I want to read the "Journal of the fight,"
Sweet, that´s how I like my Patches. Keep up the good work.
If you manage to turn "bad start" into "great game" I´m completely ok with it.
Every Ubi game has a bad start.
But only few of them are finally fixed enough. H6 is the example of the games which is not.
I do wonder what that skill cap is going to be like. I hope it won't be too restrictive. Please keep the free skilling and random skilling as it is now, and add the skill cap as something optional. Don't go messing around capping this and that, it might not be appreciated. I suggest that you first give us insight in the idea through an article, allowing us to respond to it and share ideas. Do a poll, do something. But don't create it in secret and release it too late like with the skillwheel.
"Please keep the free skilling and random skilling as it is now"
Maybe not everyone would agree with that. Free skilling is the H6 way, random skilling the H5 way (from what I saw in the Beta). Now, people complained that it was anything but random, so maybe look into that rather than trying to do something new altogether.
Whatever you do, whatever you try, COMMUNICATE IT WITH US. That's the most important thing about basically everything here.
If they actually remove level cap, they could think of a deep level up system wich could give you a lot of costimization option. Or maybe they could make certain sub skills that could help your units in combat. There are so many ways to do this. Ofcourse i understand that not everybody would like this.
And with sub skills i meant that if you got offence you could get a skill set that focus on melee or ranged and you could build it out like in Diablo 2 for example. This way you could spend points in these skills and they would go up with 1% or something like that. And let's say that each skill can be upgraded max 5 times with exceptions of certain skills. Imagine how deep you could go with this.
@Rob: that's one of the ideas they should allow us to discuss. When they come up with something, or multiple things. I don't know if your idea is something they can implement easily, because it sounds rather complicated to do for all factions and heroes etc. It sounds interesting though :).
Yes i understand this is not something that is part of the Heroes franchise, but if we already have a free level up system i want it to be deep, like some old rpg games. The incredible van Helsing games has this too if i am correct. I doesn't exectly have to be like this. But this level up system is what i like the most in rpg´s.
I'm not familiar with that game, so I couldn't say much about it. What we need to do, though, is draw a line between what's reasonably possible and total fantasy. The Devs opened a few doors again with this article, now I hope they'll allow us to pass through. For the fans, they claim? There's another chance for them to prove it.
Yes i agree with what you said. This is a open door and they should embrace this opportunity to look and see what they can do to make this game better with the actual help of us.
And what i meant with skill system is this:
http://hydra-media.cursecdn.com/diablo.gamepedia.com/c/c6/Bowazon_Skill_Tree.jpg?version=2ced01efb5ef0ca125a1524d643fd119
http://news.softpedia.com/images/extra/GAMES2/large/vanhelsing2/vanhelsing2scr_018-large.jpg
Doesn't have to be exact the same, but you can make it as deep as possible if you use this system. Atleast that is what i believe.
Yes, COMMUNICATION with this is the key. Please report this idea - the poll, more communication - with the devs and Ubisoft, @Ubi-Nox. We have already had the 'surprise' skill change, and it wasn't good.
"To coincide with this we are looking at ways to make heroes feel more unique by having different abilities. The goal is to add more unique and specialised roles to offer more diversity and replayability."
Use H3 and H5 as reference points for that. You'll find decent specializations there. It's been much requested on this blog.
And removing the level cap should coincide with specializations that increase with every hero level (or every 3 levels, whatever). That's where you can do good work on two fronts at once!
Change too the "increase production of troops" for "increasing troop's strength"...
"+X Atk/Def by creature" instead "+X creatures per week"
With this the secondary Heroes could be more useful in combat
"Think along the lines doing damage at the start of combat"
That's something that can increase with leveling up :). Base damage + x% for every 2 levels of the Hero, for instance. And depending on the faction or hero, it could be damage in either of the magic schools, or just Might Damage.
Somehow i woud rather see some new mechanic to units like additional skill for that unit specialization for example liches aoe dmg enemy
Return of the Death Cloud, for instance? Good one!
There coud be other for instace maybe wampire gets no retalation spiders gets webs to trap enemy, wolf howl debufing near army, medusa spell that coud be used on battle for now no idea what (but i think that entire unit at least need rework mobile shooter is bad for her ). and for other unit ability i think shadow council coud give nice idea than +att/deff
Hello all, as mentioned in the article this list only is including some of the hot topics. For instance, we already announced that we will keep on improving the AI and we did not changed our mind about it :) This list is not exhaustive and we will also continue to work on bugs, crashes and many other topics of course. We just wanted to give you more insights about some (we hope) interesting topics :)
We want to play safely in multiplayer without out-of-sync.
We were just hungry without information:)
There are some things still missing on this site, like the war machines. Maybe add those too in the forseeable future ^^.
Ubi was so sad because I had left so they decided to listen to (part of) our feedback :)
Nice to see you again, I missed you :D
Yeah, I stepped away from this blog for a while too. Too much negative BS.
Been focusing my attention in the forums which seems to have at least a little less negative BS.
Good to see you again Antalyan.
I do think that a portion of that negative BS was more than justified.
Marlblethrown - Brother, while at least a good portion of people's complaints are legitimate, the lack of constructive feedback has made this place rather pointless.
Either we're about solutions, or we serve no purpose here.
Like i said to someone before. What do you want ppl to do? Ubi hasn't react for a long time. And the whole game is still a huge disaster. Yes the pieces getting glued back together slowly and piece by piece. Bs whyning? I don't think so. There was no room for constructive at this point. This article is making that possible again. And the ppl here are not to blame for all this negativity. And i also don't think it is as bad as you make it out to be.
Maybe that is because there wasn't that much action on this site in the last few weeks. But i really don't feel that it is as bad as you make it out to be.
Not posting for 3 days isn't really leaving...
@Khan
It is not about time, if hours, days or months. What it is important is reason. If Ubi hadn't started listening to our feedback, I would not have returned.
About HEROES:
Honestly, removing level cap would not help to provide variety of strategies, hero choice, etc. at all. The fundamental problem is your poor and worst hero designs, actually. For example, the one of Academy hero, Gloria, starts with Master of Fire speciality, even though she would never get higher than Expert skill level for the Fire Magic due to the brainless class system. This is just an example, but very similar or even worse hero designs are everywhere now.
of removing the Level cap, is a great idea , but Please add a hero Creator mode as in Heroes 6!
I really like the saturation update, it definately looks much better!
I want that patch now, just for this! :D
Very good, hope bringing news. Don't forget about AI issues though :)
Agree, AI issue should be in this list. Enemy hero that make 20 heroes is bit too much :P
Maybe they are addressing that under balances? I think that they are constantly working on the AI though. At least they should be. And from what i have been playing the AI actually gotten smarter, range units not defending in melee combat and focusing on my range units, skipping my one stacks. So at least in combat its doing better but im not sure how it is doing when picking up resources or taking over towns.
I had one time stupid situation when enemy had only archers i planet auto combat hopping that units go and kill that unit and then realized that my army go near that elfish archer and go defend, it was odd situation ;)
"AI, Specifically combat AI is being hammered right now along with SimTurns so expect an ever increasing proficiency from AI as more patches roll in."
That's what their community manager said on Heroes Community.
I really want possibility to atack in melee for range creatures(when they can shoot).Sometimes, it's really useful! Like you said in tutorial "Sometimes it worth to sacrifice one stack to use up the enemies retaliation so that...".Add it!
You know what i mean!
It was also discussed during last stream session.
Guess what Heroes game that ability was added??
HEROES 4!!! WOOOOO!!
Yes, i know.I played all heroes and i like all of them in diffrent ways.
Thank you for sharing your future plans. But you still communicate with us too few. It really does not fit the vision of "game developed in cooperation with fans". Whatever you do, we would like to know about it.
#MORE COMMUNICATION WITH US, PLEASE!#
In this, the 1998 pc game "Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds" can teach us a valuable lesson. When playing as the Martians, you cannot build anything in a sector without constructing a Communications Centre first. That goes for the Humans too, only there it's called a Command Post. No Communications means no defenses and no expansion etc. Communication is the key :)
@broui: I like a lot of games, but I love that one. It kind of works on Windows 8, only without the audio. And it has a tendency of crashing, especially when the enemy attacks with a large force and the sector in question is already quite stuffed with buildings and/or units.
_
I have the original discs, shiny blue and red :). And if you ever wondered how bad an AI can cheat: this game probably invented cheating AI's.
Yet at the same time it's also quite stupid...especially when it comes to building defences. The AI never gives you a good challenge there. But they make up for that otherwise.
Marblethrone: I remember it.
My favorite of that era was an RPG called "Planescape: Torment" The writing was so strong even if the gameplay was just okay.
I think it still important to enable us to play campaigns with different skilwheels than with the predefined ones. As long as this game has 6 classes per each faction, it would be a huge pity to lose 5 out 6 of them in campaigns. It could make this game better replayable.
This is a good set of priorities.
Over in the forum section, I've been compiling a list of things I and many others would like to see going forward. I'll maintain the list as long as people contribute.
Much of the above was already included on that list. As a Heroes player of 20 years, I've really tried to approach this with respect. I hope developers continue to consult it.
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1288707-For-Future-Patches
Very good!Thank you for good news.Keep going and together we'll do the best heroes!
Performance and optimization: I gave up hope that the game will run on my pc, but please keep working on that. Maybe, one day, it will actually work. Maybe.

Saturation — just wow. I wish that you could do the same with creature sizes ;)
I will consider 1.4 as initial release.
