Good thing we have three different magic classes, it will offer so much diversity. It will be hard to decide which class to play first - the one that has Dark Magic, the one that has Dark Magic or the one that has Dark Magic.
Yeah I was thinking about using the one with Dark Magic but I'm still not sure :P

People chosen the old creatures( h1-h5) not the h6 ones.. But they act like they don't realize. In the end its about money and it will always be. It is an improvement of H6. You should say; we added few features from Homm to MMH that most fans raged about it. But the core features, game mechanics and 3D models are still taken from MMH6. Though, we know that the core features of Homm will not be found in H7. Be honest. Don't take people for some idiots.

And if wasn't for us, people like Galaad, they would never think of implementing the random skills - the most classic feature EVER!
H7 was not even meant for that because "it is a strategy game". But they don't get it at all. The skill system is so boring and short-termed, in fact. This makes me choose always the same, the best skills for a hero, and the gameplay wears down so quickly. The devs are a bunch of Heroes amateurs who have no idea what it is all about. They are just a bunch of workers who want to quickly do their job and come back home, not real passionate fans who want to make the best game ever.
It's like they don't really care. It's like they never spent lots of hours playing H3, H5.
Actually I think they planned all along the random skills, so we can have the illusion of doing something down here, although, if no one would have asked, we wouldn't have had them lol

A great achievement, indeed, lol. This make the game and the gameplay so cool against H5/H3. H3 which is so old will be still better than H7. This is ridiculous. And because I stared playing heroes from H4, I will be pleased to play H3, even H2 more than H7.
Even though, I enjoyed H4, it cannot compete with the magic of H3. The only thing I love the most is the H4 music - my favourite of all the games in the series.

I think The Settlers is going through the same problems. They think the fanbase is too small so they give it too litle budget and also think that big changes will help the series, but they just don't understand. And not even talking about PoP fans who are still waiting for a real new PoP game. Not a remake.
I can also make a rant about how i want them to go back to The Settlers 1 - 4 era. But i don;t if ppl are waiting for that in here.

Yes The Settlers 2 is the best (this was next to H2 what got me through hard times when i was a kid), but 3 and 4 did thier best to recreat it. They did good, but S2 is still great. Ofcourse it has it's problems. But what Ubi and BlueByte did with S5 - S7 was terrible. And now they changed the whole gameplay again just because some ppl don't like to be attacked by others...
Wasn't that the point of the game? A "strategic" game with deep economy and some wacky stuff. It's not a kid's game.

No i meant i own them both too :P. Yes The Settlers 1 was 1 of my first games too on the amiga. And yes i played both the Original S2 and S2 anniversary. I prefer the original S2 tho. But some things don't work in skirmish maps.
I even own the DS version of The Settlers 2. Wich actually works decently.

In my opinion H2 Gold is the best! And H4 is one of the worst games in Heroes of Might and Magic. Only great thing in H4 was super heroes! :)
But I agree that those true classic Heroes of Might and Magic games (1-3 and 5) are the best. And the developers should spent more hours with those games and take inspiration from them. I liked the random skill system. It was so exciting and sometimes frustrating but still far more better than in Heroes 6.. And I wonder what on earth happened to witch huts?
There are so many problems with this game we almost forget that we miss a couple of adventure map stuff. Like witch huts indeed. But with this skeelwheel it's also impossible to have witch huts, because you basicly already have all the skills already, you just need to unlock them.

Just checked the The Settlers forums and it's even more dead then the Heroes forums. And also almost no news. But yeah who the hell is waiting on a game that looks like it's going to suck from the beginning. This is really sad. And i avoid the PoP forums because the active members there are angry all the time. I already have enough negativity on this site.
Four out of eight Dungeon units have exact same model as HVI ones. We were deceived by developers during line-up voting. Stop this lazy practice immediately! In one article you show us how easy is to recolor Heroes VII models and then you give us four recolored units. Shame on you Ubilimbic for treating your fans like this. Change Medusa model now!

Blizzard makes game very long and makes all good. They are improving all before they show something fans. Please, delay the release date. We will give you time, if you will promise to make good game.

@sasholish a couple. Hearthstone, Overwatch (still in development) and Heroes of the Storm. And those are all free to play as far as i know (i am not sure about Overwatch tho).
But Blizzard knows they need to please thier fanbase, otherwise they will leave. Yes Blizz has enough money. But limiting yourself should not be a excuse for doing things with a game you are about to sell for €50,-. Some things are "not done" for big games and AAA titles.

Blizzard doesn't take their time to release game, they apply the same strategy as Valve for Half-Life : the more they wait (and they can wait with the cow WoW), the more value their licenses take. SC 2 was a very very disappoiting game in all regards, poor campaign, little enhancement... yet it sold like it was the game of the century ahahahah...
But more importantly, Limbic cannot delay the release of H7. Because, even if it's obvious as all hells, you don't seem to understand that Ubisoft doesn't give two fucks about Heroes of M&M and didn't put any money in the game. Now Ubisoft set the release in a few months and they have, litteraly, not a single reason to delay it. They want the little money they can make from this nerdy franchise.and they want it now. Uhm yes i think recent Blizzard games were good. I enjoyed SC2 and Diablo 3. And they DO listen to thier communities. Atleast SC2 and Diablo 3 get's played a lot. Can't say that of H6.
And yes maybe hearthstone isn't that good, but what if ppl enjoy it. Also for H7 it's the same as it was with Diablo 3 when it came out. They changed too many things, so ppl didn't like it. But Blizzard tried to fix thier mistakes. Ubi hasn't even tried (in my eyes).
I do not want to try defend Blizz too much (they are not perfect either), but a lot of things what Ubi has been doing with this franchise and a few others is only negative for me. Also i am more excited for the latest patch for D3 then for the beta of this game. And i think that says a lot.

The price for this game is insane! The Witcher 3 game is a lot cheaper and has been in development for around 5 years.

The idea of six hero classes per fection isn't bad, but the skill are for too repetitive. Like Sorcerer could have Fire instead of dark and Dark Prophet could have destiny instead of offense.
Just to mention it the skill system would be a lot better if only the GM skills were locked.
I agree. We don`t know what the expansions will bring when it comes down to the skills that are rarely used (destiny, fire, water etc). But some skills are far to repetitive (main skill, offensive, defensive). I would rather see the mainskill available on all heroes without it filling a slot. So there is more room for destiny/exploration, some might/magic skills when it comes down to sylvan. Same with other races

RobvD84: Precisely. The faction specific skill + one skill (GM'd) determining class. A third to be chosen from a limited list (per class). The rest or at least most of the rest ought to be choosable or randomly available to a hero upon hire (or at the start of the game).
This would still be true to what the developers had in mind but also satisfy a lot of us old timers that don't need or want the game to feel so easy.
I wonder what kind of genius got the idea to create 6 classes.. 2 or 3 that affect little more than stat distribution I can understand, but 6? What's the point of limiting players freedom like this... For the auto-skilling feature? WTF?
Or is it just another of Ubi's attempts at being innovative? As if non-random based skill system and fragmentation of magic schools wasn't enough...

This means that he does not care about the years of lore people loved so much. He wants to be creative, but this not something people loved about the series. The old lore was true; he must get it, the old lore was a true Necro, not some sci-fi necro with venoms and all that s**t. People love real Necro, void necro etc.
In that interview he also said that they may tone down the spider theme in the future, but I'm pretty sure the Necropolis warmachines in H7 will be some kind of spiders...
One more thing, I remember the article where he said he had no vision of how the game should be. I'm not saying he's bad guy, but he is completely clueless when it comes to the Heroes franchise and how a good Heroes game should be.
If Ubi wants a good Heroes game then they should bring JVC back or the guys that made H5.

They did it... even I lost all hope for this game now. Dungeon is a joke, just like they where in Heroes 6. So OP it's not even funny. Shroud of Malassa would be a good skill for an aprils fool joke. It should not be a serious skill, in a balanced game. Top it all of with reused models, and bad 3d models for the rest of them.

The Ranger does, they cocked it up when posting it initially.
Water GM = Sanctuary in an Expansion.
Destiny = Ranger and likely some Inferno heroes in an expansion.
Not enough diversity. More choices are needed. Now number of heroes with GM magic skills:
Water - 0 heroes
Fire - 1 hero
Air - 2 heroes
Light - 3 heroes
Dark - 5 heroes
Earth - 5 heroes
Prime - 7 heroes
It'll be better to give:
- Water GM to any of Academy and Sylvan hero (for classical elven tactics "slow and shoot")
- Fire GM - to Dungeon (for classical "Black Dragon + Armageddon")
Decrease number of Prime heroes. It'll be boring to play, if in 30% of cases opponent will use Prime spells.
I'm saying this a lot today:
Fire would make sense with Fortress and Inferno.
Water makes sense with Sanctuary.
@broui, you are also right, but that doesn't mean that current level of diversity is enough. Look for example at those 3 classes in this article: all of them use Dark Magic, but one is offensive, second - defensive, third - can use Prime. The difference between them is not so big, as I'd wish. Why shouldn't one use Darkness, second - Fire and third - Earth. Why not to make more combos of different schools with Dungeon creatures? Or, at least, 2 - Dark, 1 - Fire.
well lets hope for a future dlc with dwarves and infernals as both had fire in H5

Why put the same main skills again and again? Where is Fire magic, water magic (not specially in this case)...? Can't we live without offense, defense...? Seriously, these main skills, all main skills of all heroes should be rethought to give more variety to the game and not always the same abilities, including in the same faction. But, well, what could I expect for the boredom, non-complete skillwheel?
Underground, we could expect some earth magic... medusa could teach some water magic... some dark-elves could learn diplomatie or leadership if they like manipulation...

Where is sorcery or enlightenment(I don't know these skills are in Heroes VII :/ )for magic heroes? All Dungeon Heroes must have dark magic but why not fire/earth/air or water? IMO this game can lose by imposition the same skills.
People have been saying this ever since the skeelwheel, hero specialization and skills were shown. It's all about making it simple and balanced (even tho perfectly balancing in games is almost next to impossible). And not forgetting spending the low budget money on things wich are not important (funny animation, models at Gamescom for example).

Too true. Academy heroes should be able to use all magic at least at the "expert" level and be able GM in 2 of their choice (allowing for the 3rd to be the new Academy skill, the name of which escapes me at the moment). Counter that with fewer options for the Might heroes. Academy, I've always thought of as a really magic centered faction in contrast to the Orcs who are much more Might centered.
The thing is dwarfs and inferno are not in the game, and they are fire users. So that is a problem.
There is a haven hero for fire magic and a academy hero for water magic and one stronhold hero for air magic, but I agree, it's very few...
It is reasonable to assume that any expansions would end up including the other three factions; Sanctuary, Fortress, and Inferno in some capacity.
They have explicitly stated that they'd like to do expansions with them but expansions will rely on the sales of the base game. There is an intention there. Depends on demand.
