A question. When i hire troops in a town, do i empty other towns aswell? Or can i as in the older games get troops from other towns in the same week? As in heroes III for example...

Placing your troops before beginning hte battle for every commander, that's great! Not with an ability like HMM3 or with a wild guess like in HMM6 (I never found how to place my armies right to have them where I wanted in '6...)
Nice improvment with flanking / rearing bonuses, also opens for more creature abilities (cannot be flanked or attacked from behind...)

In comparison with H5, the difference between 1st and 7th level units was big (I think) enough. Any dragon could kill at least the dozen of peasants, pixies or anything else. But it did not mean that Sharp Shooter or Crossbowman could not hurt Dragon or Hydra.

So it means that Elite is strong enough to deal with opponents Champion, while Core units cannot affect them at all?

This is the appropriate place.
What about ammo carts ? This feature forced you to consider the number of shots your units had. Also upgraded shooters having more.
Medusa for instance, on top of her powerful stoning ability making her a great warrior in melee, had 4 and 8 shots in H3.
Ammo carts is to consider, and destroying it would at least cost you one move.

Concerning the factions, will we have, like in the old times, a moral malus if we mix some creatures from different factions ? That was quite interesting.

They should have much bigger penalties for it. H3-h5 had so soft penalties they didn't even matter. Getting skill or artifact would negate the penalty if not even still stay on positive side. With no boosts the negative morale was hitting really rarely unless you had 4-5 different factions in your army. It should require some skill to balance having different faction units in your army and it should effect your army in longer games too.

Since h7 uses h6 system of Double digits maybe give bigger penalty for each unit thats not your own faction -9-15-25-30 morale and so forth increasing with each unit so it needs so in this model having 4 units for example would give total of 79 negative morale which is huge. This would require good planning to how many units you can take and penalty you can live with.opposite faction could get even bigger penalty. This way even full morale skills and couple items could end you in negative.

Is that Rock-Paper-Scissor system actually good? It will ruin 1 vs 1s. I play H5 and almost ALWAYS took Dungeon. And now, my opponent just has to pick one faction and my play is really ruined. This really ruins the game. For this system to work, The faction should be switchable mid-game which is not possible.

Yeah, this terrifies me. Dangerous ground. In HOMM3, yes you obviously had to have different strategies to take on certain foes. For example, going after haven you had to get in close quick because of the long range. That's all fine and dandy, but creating an artificial "favorite enemy" or "arch enemy" would be awful.

Is there a site where all differences vs homm V and VI are presented? I'm a great fan of V and III II and I, a bit less of VI thought it also has it's strong points and I would like to know what i'm gonna think of VII.. You already got me really excited

I don't play H6, but as I know, in H6 :
-New original faction with japaness/water theme.
-Boss fight.
-No random skill.
-Spell are considered as ability (no magic guild).
-Each faction as an ability which grant you a special power (for example, necro charge their ability when creature dies on the battlefield and can use it to resurect their creature).
-Town captured can be convert to your faction.

-Units you produce can be create in every castles.
-Heroes can teleport to any castle at any time.
-Creature behind rocs have a bonus against range attack.
-Battlefield can contain structur to help creature (don't know what it is, probably heal, additionnal moral, etc)
-Moral allow a second turn but with 50% movement and damage.
-... and maybe other things.^^

I think I really start digging the champion's choice. Giving choice for each level (a la H4) was in my opinion a "false good-idea": one creature was always better than the other one. So unless some really radical cost or resource shortage prevents from choosing the best, you always fall into the same pattern. All the more because you had to take the next choice into account also.

But here, as it is the last creature, it is not so affecting, and add some variety to endgame.

If the different champion can adapt your army to different strategy, it can be very interesting.

I just hope it is carefully balanced in terms of cost/growth/power

I don't mind choice, it's the permanence that frightens me. If I buy unit A but then conquer a town that built unit B suddenly I'm stuck with both or less of one. Will I have enough slots on my hero to take both with me or do I have to pick one or eliminate a lower level unit. There's a difference between fun flavor choices and annoying lesser of 2 evils choices. Please be careful devs.
