As good are might heroes models as bad are magic ones. There's just too many different things on them. Their eyes are covered with teeth. And I don't understen why they need them. If this canines would be placed upper so heroes would look from under them it would be much better. It seems that yet it's only one bad thing from Stronghold.
My thoughts exactly.
My thoughts too
Probably it is intentional. They are shamans, so they should have a magical sense. They don't need to see enemies for kill them. It makes the shamans more scary and no one won't try to get behind them because they know that someone is behind and it's impossible to make suprise attack.
Exploration... Excellent! Logistics wins in the long run...
totally agree, Logistics has been always one of my skill choices
1) Eyes problems
2) Recycled names
3) Not a single magic skill for shaman
I agree with the eye problem it just look stupid
Eye AND ear problems for the male. How can one fight this way?
Of course, loosing eye-sight sometimes opens you up for 'inner sight'. Could be valuable for a magician. But I expect that with dark elves, not with barbarians. Barbarians without eyes, ears and agility don't make sense. Same for the might hero veil: no barbarian trait.
I have no problem with recycling names. HoMM VII plays a couple of years later than HoMM VI, so it would be consistent to use the same names.
@Benne Just a couple years? try 300 years after h6, 100 years before h5.
Ah, that's further apart than I thought.
So all factions should resemble both HoMM VI and V, if you value consistency (like I do). Ergo: ditch the excess ironworks. Bones aplenty in HoMM VI and V, so they should stay. But their placement on a hero should be more practical. HoMM V heroes have plenty body paint and feather stuff, that should give lots of opportunities to be creative.
Well I'd say Shaman is just too boring. Storm caller and Earth Shaper are quite unique and lore inspired, but I'd took that chance to call a balanced hero something else.
I really don't find it to be very appealing that all heroes have something covering their face.
Sorry, but it simply looks stupid!
I think the majority of fans thinks that way but the devs have other ideas.
I don't mind face covers at all - I do mind that in case of these two, it looks ridiculously dumb.
That's the effect of re-working H6 models. They look like werid Indians, not real orcs. The names of the classes are exactly the same.
They are blind as a bat. All orcs have eyes uncovered and these two douches put some werid stuff on their head/eyes so they cannot see anything. No logic at all. Stupid.
I will never approve a game based on H6. You could at least change the classes names :P
Even the re-works are better than H6 (colors etc.), they still remind me of H6 indians, not orcs.
а вообще -орки -маги-это полная ерунда((
Orcs - magicians is a nonsense
+1. I loved the H5 orcs concept as melee-faction. But in current concept we have H3 system and when all other factions will have both might and magic heroes, orcs are obliged to have them too.
You want to hide their faces. But you don't know how to do it for stronghold heroes. You make your decision and now we can see this funny pictures.
You ask us to expose their faces...but you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me Erfather...
This pictures are actually very funny.
It would be nice if these Heroes, who for once have a justification to use a mask actually were masked, instead of just wearing a ridiculous hat.
I agree with you Sligneris. THis looks ridiculous, but if it were masks (simple one) i would have not minded.
Is this some sort of a dev fetish to put bones on a rag between both characters' legs?
(if you know what I mean)
Good question, my little friend, from the big game HoMM !
Yeah the male one looks uncomfortable if he walks.
Seems that reproductive organs are of great importance to Shamans. :P
So that's where the name "Idol of Fertility" comes from!
Magic heroes look much better, than the warrior heroes!
Yup. Would look even much better without that mask/headdress IMO. Overall this is how stronghold heroes should look like, more on the wild/barbaric side.
Shaman without a mask - it's not a shaman :)
Headdress needed to maintain the image of each shaman!
That is not a freaking mask, that is something silly and stupid. Look for African (tribal) masks and that is already better then what they have done. I am not a fan of something covering the faces, but if it is a mask i would not mind it. Ofcourse it should stay simple.
I did say without THAT mask. Some much more subtle, but sadly this artist always finds ways to go over the top...
Just curious; if you have faction-specific building to boost diplomacy, how come none of the heroes have that as skill? (Note I don't see diplomacy-building suiting for orcs personally, but cheap copy/paste mechanic from haven)
yep, a slavemarket woud be a better choice
A freelancer's guild would've been so good...
Slave market made no sense for a faction so strongly opposed to slavery.
It could be redesigned, so instead of sold to slavery they could be sold as mercenaries for some resources.
slavemarket is pace where you can bay and sell slaves
So why slave market made no sense ?
@xzloth01: Because the orcs themselves were slaves once, but they revolted and won their freedom. It is therefore very ironic that they of all factions are the ones with a slave market in their town. I never thought about it that way, but as Sligneris says, it makes no sense.
slavemarket could work as a random dwelling + you could sell your unnecessary units
as i remember h5 orcs had slave market
If anything, it was H3 that had freelancer's guild. Don't remember if H5 had it, though...
and on the other and, now orcs has a diplomacy-building, i do not think that orcs are pretty diplomatics, so a diplomacy-building makes no sense my thinking
"However, once the war was won and the danger passed, the surviving Orcs were resettled as slaves and indentured troops to work the mines and guard dangerous borders in the Seven Cities and the neighbouring Holy Falcon Empire. Persecuted and feared, they grew bitter and resentful towards their makers."
Yes, it could function in a town, but not Stronghold. The story of the Orcs doesn't justify them being slave drivers like that...
yep, h3's Freelancer's Guild was the same what i am talking about, but in my concept the slavemarket should work as the Freelancer's Guild+the Refugee Camp
ok You all right, add The slavemarket to dungeon!
, but orc diplomacy building ... strange!
J'aime bien les description et les compétences principales. Par contre, le casque est vraiment bizarre et je me demande comment ils peuvent voir. Sans doute grace au Ciel-Père et à la Terre-Mère 😀
Bien dit. XD
These guys are blind men's bluff, hehe.
Maybe other weapons?
That would be a very good start... After that you should edit the helmets (the horns are too huge) and the visual deception... The idea of a "blind" heroe is cool, but then with a real eye bandage... (I personally prefer heroes, which can see..., but why not??)
I think the models would look better without their eyes covered.
I think similarily
I actually like the covered eyes - it makes a change from the covered mouths everyone else seems to have, and to me at least invokes a feeling that the shaman relies on a sort of "spirit sight" rather than earthly senses
I've thought about these for the better part of the day.
These look like the DreamWalkers from H6 and MMX. Not that is a bad thing, necessarily.
But, all those horns are so impractical.
In fact, why so much?
The great (and seemingly immortal) Shiva doesn't need a lot of adornment. She's just a bad@$$ leading orcs.
