Perhaps one thing come to my mind ... if you are capable of this kind of detail in adventure map, why 2D townscreens? It cant be much more expensive to make than theese. It doesnt have to be zoomable to town people faces ... some more trees, perhaps one big one and you have elf city right there in that lake.

The graphics looks great guys. Please ensure that there are plenty of buildings to interact with on the adventure map though. Beautiful scenery is just that, scenery

I hope that in Heroes VII there will be as many decorative elements as in Heroes V. Karts, bags, crops, etc. This looks quite good but I hope there will still be a little bit more.

It looks nice but what would be good to game is changing the model into more life-like place. Not only mines, castles, sea, lakes, mountains, trees, guarding creatures and heroes but also some fauna and flora plus other building/elements creating views and alive realms.

The graphics improve with each new photo :D Scaling is still a bit off, but work in progress. With the size and resolution of current monitors, don't be afraid to make things small.

Looks very good :) but I have just one simple request....

Please make the castle's 3d again, it was such a beautiful thing to fly around it and it added much to the castle/faction aspects of the game.

I personally prefer the 2D town screens and am happy with their decision, although I loved heroes V I didn't like the townscreen turning around, and I didnt feel as much change when you build up the town.

I would love 3d-screens, but they won't do it. They said it would be too expensive since nobody looks at the towns.

I hate the current cartoon-ish screens, if they gotta go with 2d they should've made it more like h4 or h3. Those screens still look way better than what we've seen so far. The h7 town-screens just remind me most of h6 which had worst screens in the series so far(both the original and updated screens). That's my take on the town-screens anyway.

1. in the winter is too cold
2. in the summer is too hot
3. my next door neighbor is too loud.
4. I don't have enough money.

1 - turn up the heating
2 - turn down the heating, open your windows, buy a fan/AC
3 - go talk to him or buy earplugs
4 - find some work or sell some stuff.

One of the difficult things to balance when going from 2D to 3D is making things look similar, but different. In the 2D pixel art days, you could get away with a sawmill looking the same size as a massive castle, but the more you make the game look "realistic," you start to reach the uncanny valley. In the first screenshot, the gold mine is about the same size as the castle. It seems odd, but would you prefer them to be difficult to see?

I think the scaling is fine for this game.

It's all in the execution. You can use symbols/banners to show things, you can use colors, reduce/increase map-objects, change shapes/sizes, show rough forms when something is behind another thing, etc. A lot of things you can do really to make things stand out or stay in the back-ground. I prefer more realistic proportions and actually think it could even be good if all things don't stand out completely. Player with keen eye might find things others miss e.g. some gold-pile hiding behind forest

And by the rough forms I mean basically the drawing-lines, I just can't find the word for it. I think in h6 you could see things like that behind other stuff, but I could be wrong.

I agree, and I do think the scaling will probably drop as time goes on. The implementation of those "mine" textures might be very new, and just wasn't scaled down on time before the screenshots released. I don't know.

I don't think they've done any scaling yet, just implemented the objects. I'd think the real scaling will be done once the mechanics of the game and the more important things are done with. It's more of the details category to me, but regardless important one in the final product at same time.

Graphics are great. Just make sure there will be lots of building to interact with (recruit troops, increase the hero's charactéristics, give information about the map etc..). That will give more profundity and interest for the game and will be a good step forward.

I think things look ok/good(maybe some years out-dated compared to current games), but I really hope they re-think the scaling to make things look more natural. Having stables as big as castle for example just seems off to me. I don't need the world-map/gloabal view they are so proud of or you can use symbols on it so you don't need giant map-buildings and heroes. The way I see that kind of feature is to give you general idea of things, It doesn't need you actually seeing what hero looks like.

Your wrong, you don't need trees in a game but you this crystal, you need to see it clearly. So scaling here is good for gameplay and oldfans (coz in H3 all the same), i will be disapointed if ugly H5 map is coming back.

Agreed. H6 was step in right direction but H5 almost completely ruined my experience with it's cartoonish graphics (and voice acting).
